Two thoughts and a quote for today. First, the good news.
Connie Betz, one of our dedicated sidewalk counselors was at the Planned Parenthood last Saturday morning and flagged down a Hispanic couple. She was able to use our Spanish counseling pamphlets to communicate as they spoke almost no English at all.
She spoke with them in the Dominick's parking lot for a while before they went into PP. After about 20-30 minutes, they came back out and, with what English they had, told Connie that they did not have the abortion and were not going to!

We had another great turnout for our monthly protest at Planned Parenthood Saturday. More than 130 people participated in the big picket line along the bike path on the south side of New York Street. Another two dozen gathered across the road from the abortuary to pray and offer help to abortion-bound mothers.

Last night's Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) hearing was fast and furious. It was full of back and forth between attorneys and the ZBA. It seemed like it was over before it began! I'm sure a lot of people are wondering what implications last night's events will have on the future of our efforts here in Aurora.
Tonight: The next Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) hearing begins at 7:00 p.m. at Aurora City Hall (
My daughter passed by the clinic early Christmas morning and saw something inside the fence of the vacant lot at Planned Parenthood. She drove around to see it better and saw it was a manger.
She took pictures of it and I will try to put the pictures on here. After church we all took a ride out there. Two statues, a wooden shelter with words on it and an empty manger sits in the field and faces the clinic.![Picket along NY St [click for larger version] Picket along NY St [click for larger version]](/pix/2007/dec15a.jpg)
