YOUTH FOR TRUTH

The Archdiocese of Chicago (currently running the Chicago 40-Days For Life Prayer Vigil) invited Youth For Truth to hold a Pro-Life Youth Rally in Chicago.

The Rally will be this Sunday, October 21, 2007, from 1:00-4:00 pm, in Chicago! At 1pm, meet at the Chicago Planned Parenthood (1200 N. LaSalle Street—corner of LaSalle and Division) where we will kick off our rally with prayer. From there we will march from the Planned Parenthood to St. Joseph’s Church (located at 1107 N. Orleans Street, Chicago) where our rally will continue with a band, to lead us in music, and great speakers!

Stand up for life! Be a voice and a witness for the silenced! All youth, Jr. High through College invited! Bring Friends!Wear your pro-Life apparel! All who cannot join us: Please keep us in your prayers!

Parking: You are welcome to park at Holy Name Cathedral (located at 735 N. State Street, Chicago). However you will be walking a distance to the Planned Parenthood from there. If possible, you may want to find a nearby parking spot on the street.

Here I am (see photo at right) this past May with my daughter Liza in our new garden. We're planting red peppers. Last night, Liza helped me make a big pot of chili using some of those very same peppers.

At eleven-going-on-twelve, Liza is the oldest of my six daughters.

As the father of so many girls—plus their two older brothers—I'm keenly interested in the Parental Notice ordinance just proposed by Alderman Rick Lawrence and endorsed by Aldermen Chris Beykirch and Richard Irvin.

Now that the "Abortion Fortress" has opened on the east side of Aurora, Planned Parenthood and City officials expect us to give up and go away. But we're not going away.

On Saturday, October 27, we'll show Planned Parenthood and the City of Aurora that our peaceful campaign is full of life. We won't quit until the "Abortion Fortress" is closed for good.

I've posted my top 5 speeches from Tuesday's Aurora City Council meeting (in no particular order), providing a interesting mix of styles and viewpoints - there's a call to demolish the clinic, a funny yet compelling story about lies and evictions, straightforward legal reasoning, questions about bulletproof glass, and even a little infighting between the pro-aborts. Wow! Where do I even begin? The Community Baby Shower was a great success! As most of you know, things move pretty quickly when it comes to the Families Against Planned Parenthood campaign so, when a friend of mine from church suggested this idea to me, I quickly passed it on. By the time we got the final “thumbs up” we had only 4 days to make this idea a reality. Yes, you read right, 4 days! But, as we know, with God all things are possible. Several women from our Mom’s Group at Holy Angels quickly volunteered their time and talents and, within 48 hours, we not only connected with the organizations who we planned on benefiting but we also had done a PR “blitz” to the local faith community and parish schools.
