Moody Radio covers Scheidler v. Trombley libel suit

Posted by Eric Scheidler on Friday, October 30th, 2009

Planned Parenthood Lies to You signYesterday a piece ran on Moody Radio's national program Prime Time America highlighting the libel suit I'm fighting against Planned Parenthood of Illinois and their CEO Steve Trombley, and how the Illinois Citizens Participation Act has been turned inside-out by Planned Parenthood's lawyers.

Aurora City Council grants Planned Parenthood's parking request

Posted by Eric Scheidler on Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Eric watches the proceedings TuesdayRoger Earl beat me to it with the exciting news that three babies were saved from abortion the day after the Aurora City Council met our (very low) expectations by granting Planned Parenthood's request to expand their parking lot. This is an especially significant number, since precisely three aldermen voted against PP's petition.

On the City Council agenda for Tuesday evening, October 27, was a petition by Planned Parenthood to expand their parking lot. The petition had been approved by the Planning and Development Committee, but then appealed by 4th Ward Alderman Rick Lawrence to the full Council. [Continue reading . . . »]

City Council Approves Parking; Three Babies Saved

Posted by Roger on Thursday, October 29th, 2009

The City Council meeting on Tuesday was as someone I overheard after the meeting said "disappointing but expected".  Fortunately, for many of us, we don't put all our hope in our elected officials to do the right thing.

The very next day, Wednesday, not one, not two, but three women are known to have made a decision to keep their baby. Each of these women spoke with the people standing outside PP counseling and praying to let them know of their decision.

I don't think any of these women were thinking about the additional parking spaces PP wanted to add, but when it's all added up, 11 - 3 is a great BIG WIN!

God Bless,
Roger

Judge hears arguments carefully in motion to dismiss

Posted by Matt Yonke on Monday, October 26th, 2009

Judge Neal CerneOn Friday, October 23, Judge Neal Cerne (pictured to the right) heard arguments on Planned Parenthood and the City of Aurora's motion to dismiss Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood's zoning case in the Illinois 18th Judicial Circuit Court.

I'll tell you all about the hearing in a minute, but first let me emphasize that this case is one of the biggest reasons we need to pack the Aurora City Council meeting Tuesday, October 27 at 6 p.m. at Aurora City Hall, 44 W. Downer Pl. (Map) when the council will consider Alderman Rick Lawrence's appeal of the city's approval for Planned Parenthood to add new parking. Among other reasons, the city must not allow Planned Parenthood to add to their property while the zoning of their property is the subject of a lawsuit in state court (see Eric's post on the situation here for all the reasons). Call the City Clerk at 630-844-3615 to get on the list to speak at the meeting. [Continue reading . . . »]

Battalions of pro-lifers join the third annual Jericho March

Posted by Matt Yonke on Monday, October 19th, 2009

Randy Schoof leads the first batallion of marchers in the 3rd annual Jericho MarchOne of the most special events in the history of our battle against Planned Parenthood here in Aurora is the Jericho March. Saturday, October 17 marked the third anniversary of the Jericho March and this year's march was one of the best yet. Read about the marches from 2007 and 2008.

The fall air was brisk as pro-lifers gathered at the corner of New York and Oakhurst with red cross banners, American flags and picket signs reading "Moms for Life," "Dads for Life," "Stop Abortion NOW," "Planned Parenthood Kills Babies," and "Planned Parenthood LIES to You." Committee Rubber Stamps PP Expansion

Posted by Eric Scheidler on Friday, October 16th, 2009

P&D committee (from left) Aldermen Mike Saville, Abby Schuler and Rick MervineUPDATE below.

Last night the Planning and Development Committee rubber-stamped Planned Parenthood's expansion of their parking lot. Unless a member of the City Council appeals this decision, it will pass by consent at the next City Council meeting, October 27.

This result, though disappointing, was not a surprise. We've grown used to seeing City of Aurora officials avoid confronting Planned Parenthood's misdeeds. But I was impressed to see that at least some of our objections had made it through to the aldermen on the committee.

Why is Planned Parenthood trying to expand in Aurora?

Posted by Eric Scheidler on Monday, October 12th, 2009

Planned Parenthood LIES to YOUIn a development that reopens the whole controversy surrounding their deceptive arrival here, it has recently been disclosed that Planned Parenthood is planning an expansion at their Aurora site. They are seeking permission from the City of Aurora to boost their parking by a whopping 27 spaces, an increase of nearly 40%.

I'll go on and explain the entire situation—including the deception going on here—in a moment, but first let me deliver this urgent action item:

Please call and e-mail the aldermen on the Planning and Development Committee and tell them not to approve Planned Parenthood's parking expansion request.

When you call, give three reasons for the committee to reject the
parking scheme:

  1. The zoning ordinance requires 10-foot-wide parking spaces, but PP's spaces are only 9 feet wide.
  2. The zoning ordinance requires a 35 foot setback for parking spaces, but PP only has 30.
  3. Planned Parenthood's stated reason for the new spaces, "security," is a total sham: we are peaceful and law-abiding.

Here's the contact information for the P & D Committee:

  • Alderman Mike Saville, Chair (6th Ward): 630-896-9895 | e-mail
  • Abby Schuler (1st Ward): 630-710-0331 | e-mail
  • Rick Mervine (8th Ward): 331-452-5136 | e-mail

Now, to fill in all the details . . . [Continue reading . . . »]

Planned Parenthood loses a Customer

Posted by Roger on Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

It is great to see some old and some new faces spending time praying to stop abortion at the Planned Parenthood facility since the 40 Days for Life began just a couple days ago. Prayer works and enables God to work more effectively in our hearts.

Just the other night, after the start of our 40 Days, I spoke with a young woman, I'll call her "Lisa", who was going to PP for some medical issues, to which she stated the solution was birth control pills. I shared with her some of the documented facts regarding the potential side-effects of various birth control methods. I also shared with her all about Planned Parenthood, its founding and the fact that it is the U.S.' largest provider of abortion "services". [Continue reading . . . »]

Planned Parenthood tries to drum up more business

Posted by Matt Yonke on Friday, September 25th, 2009

Planned Parenthood's ad in the Aurora BeaconPlanned Parenthood ran this ad in the Aurora Beacon on Monday, September 21 offering their "Convenient, confidential and affordable services. I see this as simultaneously displaying Planned Parenthood's strengths and their weaknesses.

It displays their strong suits of money and influence. Those are perhaps the two biggest things Planned Parenthood has going for them in this struggle, and they have them in spades.

It costs money to advertise. This is a very nicely designed ad which says they hired a good designer which they consistently do. Good design costs money, but they've got money to burn. That's where they're strong.

But this ad also shows their weakness. Why do they have to put out a pretty, inviting ad like this? Why do they have to offer discounts to new patients on their already "affordable" prices? It's because what they do is disgusting and everybody knows exactly what they do. [Continue reading . . . »]

New Activists Trained in Aurora

Posted by Matt Yonke on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

The Pro-Life Action League hosted a Pro-Life Activism and Training Day on Saturday, September 19 in Aurora Illinois. League national director Joe Scheidler said it was one of the best pro-life training sessions he had ever attended.

The day started with the monthly protest outside Planned Parenthood Aurora. The sidewalk along New York Street was packed with pro-lifers protesting Planned Parenthood's deadly business. After the protest, the day continued with a pro-life training seminar at New Life Baptist Church in Naperville.
