UPDATE: As the story develops, the young art student has claimed that the piece is not "performance art" but perfectly real. Yale, for it's part, is claiming that her denial is part of the performance and that she told them she would deny it if they exposed the piece. For my money, I still think it's a hoax, especially since her thesis adviser refuses to comment.

Either way, it is an unbelievably tasteless stunt for a revered institution such as Yale to be party to. By supporting an endeavor like this, whether real or a performance, Yale has removed all doubt that they have completely broken ties with the Christian origins which made the Ivy League the haven for intellectual excellence it had been. We'll see how long that reputation lasts.

Events at Yale this week make it easy to sympathize with King Solomon. Reflecting on a long, productive life, the king spake thus:

I hated all my labor in which I labored under the sun, because I must leave it to the man who comes after me. Who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? Yet he will have rule over all of my labor in which I have labored, and in which I have shown myself wise under the sun. This also is vanity.

Yale, one of our nation's oldest and proudest institutions of higher learning was founded in 1701 to be a place “wherein Youth may be instructed in the Arts and Sciences [and] through the blessing of Almighty God may be fitted for Publick employment both in Church and Civil State.” (from the Yale Charter). A mere 207 years later, a student is making her senior art project out of the remains of babies which she conceived and aborted herself. This also is vanity. Today's Aurora Beacon featured an article, on the front page, titled "Diseases blossom with teen sexuality, with the sub-title of "1 in 4 teen GIRLS NOW has an STD".

The article points out that 1 in 4 teenage girls nationwide currently has an STD. Noreen Transier or the Kendall County Health Department is quoted in the article as saying "There are more kids having sex."

More kids having sex is probably not news, but the statistic that 1 in 4 girls currently have an STD should be alarming. Apparently, something is not working when STDs are spreading to 25% of our teenage females. (The article did not mention any statistics about teenage boys for some reason.)

As Eric captured in his Tuesday blog, the last City Council meeting addressed concerns over the growing restrictions on Pro-Lifers’ basic rights. With each new event, Aurora officials further erode our freedoms guaranteed under the Constitution – the right to free speech, the right to assemble peaceably – and this issue is now at the forefront of the Planned Parenthood controversy.

The Parental Notice ordinance is an important piece of legislation that affects all of you in a personal way. It supports your rights as parents and protects your children from the predators who would want to keep their deception and harm of your children from you. As responsible adults we must support this ordinance. Let’s get this ordinance passed. When it’s all said and done though we still must remain vigilant against the forces that will harm our children.

When the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic opened a few weeks back, I’m certain that Mayor Weisner, Steve Trombley and the pro-aborts expected us to go home and consider the case over. Well they couldn’t have been more wrong!

I attended last week’s City Council meeting and was quite honestly surprised to see so many pro-lifers out in force to maintain pressure on the Mayor and to support life. The City Council meeting was once again packed with citizens demanding that the Mayor enforce Aurora laws and shut down the clinic. But the scene outside of city hall was equally compelling, as crowds of pro-lifers gathered to protest the Mayor’s actions and pray for the clinic to close.

With growing limits on citizen speeches during council meetings, I asked those outside if they had any messages for the Mayor… and did they! Many citizens no longer have a voice in Aurora City Council meetings, but they were still eager to send a message, even a small one, to the Mayor.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Barack Obama has issued a statement in support of Planned Parenthood in Aurora:

I fully support Planned Parenthood's desire to open a new facility in Aurora. The proposed center will serve the growing population in a part of the state where access to a full range of reproductive health care services is lacking.

This is great news on so many levels. First, the organization I work for, the Pro-Life Action League, was the first to picket candidate Obama—back on February 10, one of the coldest days of the year. We opposed him then, he's opposing us now—kind of returning the favor.

The Jericho March Finale brought together pro-life ministers and nearly 1000 supporters, all asking for God's intervention to keep the Aurora Planned Parenthood abortion clinic closed—and our Lord certainly has not disappointed!

I've posted a video that captures the sights and sounds from the event, especially the rousing speeches given at the press conference. And here are a couple of other great videos I saw on Youtube covering the Jericho March Finale.

Once again… after a little digging we find yet ANOTHER example of Planned Parenthood’s deception in the media. After his arrogant and open admissions of deception were published in newspapers and blogs across the country, Chicago PP CEO Steve Trombley has recently taken to the airwaves in an effort to re-spin the truth.

With his recent admission to the Chicago Tribune that “Frankly, I'm surprised we were able to keep it a secret for so long" still echoing in the ears of the Aurora community, Trombley now has the gall to claim just the opposite – claim that Planned Parenthood WANTED the city of Aurora to know they were moving into town, and bringing an abortion super-clinic with them!
