Wednesday Open Thread: Illinois HB5615

Posted by Roger on Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Are they "nuts"? The Reproductive Justice and Access Act nears the height of insanity.

The bill states "that every individual possesses a fundamental right of privacy with respect to reproductive decisions", yet for "pregnancy terminations", that same individual does not have a right to hold her "medical professional", aka the abortionist, responsible for any harm done during the abortion.

In Section 25, "Pregnancy terminations", it states: "a qualified medical professional is not liable for civil damages or subject to criminal penalty relating to a pregnancy termination performed in good faith". [Continue reading . . . »]

Over 150 Brave the Cold to Protest Planned Parenthood

Posted by Eric Scheidler on Monday, February 18th, 2008

Picket line Feb 16We had another great turnout for our monthly protest at Planned Parenthood Saturday. More than 130 people participated in the big picket line along the bike path on the south side of New York Street. Another two dozen gathered across the road from the abortuary to pray and offer help to abortion-bound mothers.

Two more lives saved at PP!

Posted by Matt Yonke on Monday, February 11th, 2008

God is working powerfully through our Sidewalk Counselors! I just got word today of two other young mothers turning away from Planned Parenthood and choosing life. These stories come from Kristine, a regular sidewalk counselor and prayer warrior. If you're not out on the sidewalk, stories like these ought to get you there. Sign up today, and be a part of this crucial work!

I am a counselor at PP and I would like you all to know the two miracles that have happened in the last two Saturdays.

Last Saturday, February 2, a woman and her aunt were going to turn into PP and were distracted by us waving our literature. As they passed us up they saw Randy's graphic abortion sign and started to cry, leaving an open door for us to talk and pray with them. [Continue reading . . . »]

Sidewalk Counseling Works!

Posted by Matt Yonke on Monday, February 11th, 2008

On Friday, Karen from Holy Angels Church and Sandy from First Presbyterian Church had the great blessing of helping a couple at Planned Parenthood choose life instead of abortion! Great work Karen and Sandy! Here is the story in Karen's own words

On Friday, Feb. 8, I joined the dedicated pro-lifers from First Presbyterian Church in Aurora to pray and offer help to the women at Planned Parenthood.

In the last half of the morning a man pulled out of Planned Parenthood's parking lot and stopped to accept my literature. He had brought a woman to the clinic before I had arrived. [Continue reading . . . »]

Posted by Roger on Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Ok, so what's it going to be this year? And how long is it going to last?

Are you going to (again) lose weight? Or start exercising? Or maybe you've decided to really get better at those "Thank You" notes?

Well, how about a "New Year's Resolution" that can really make a difference? [Continue reading . . . »]

Manger at PP

Posted by Mary Lu on Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

Manger at PPMy daughter passed by the clinic early Christmas morning and saw something inside the fence of the vacant lot at Planned Parenthood. She drove around to see it better and saw it was a manger.

Manger at PPShe took pictures of it and I will try to put the pictures on here. After church we all took a ride out there. Two statues, a wooden shelter with words on it and an empty manger sits in the field and faces the clinic.

Mom leaves Planned Parenthood, chooses LIFE

Posted by Matt Yonke on Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

Clinic witness Joe B. shares this story of a woman who turned away from abortion at Planned Parenthood and chose life for her baby. Thanks to Joe and all those who brave the cold to pray and counsel.

Baby handI thought I would pass this great success story from the prayer vigil on Saturday December 8.

Between noon and 1:00 p.m. Ginny N., Alfredo P. and I were standing across from the entrance to Planned Parenthood. Two women between ages 20 and 25 came out of the clinic and got into a Burgundy four door sedan (maybe a Pontiac or Buick).

Wednesday Open Thread: Pro-Life and Persistence

Posted by Roger on Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

I've been missing the "Wednesday Open Thread", and since I have the power …

In some posts on this blog, there are those that suggest that we go away already, or that we are hateful. I tend to think that we are loving and are having a very positive impact on people as a whole.

The question for today is:

Are we making a difference in a positive way, and how?

And since it's almost Thursday, please feel free make your comments past Wednesday!

God Bless, Roger

Medical Waste

Posted by Wanda on Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Biohazard symbolToday at about 2:30PM, I was standing outside the Planned Parenthood facility, praying and trying my hand at sidewalk counseling, when a big white truck pulled into the facility and on the back of the truck was a sign that said "Medical Waste". My heart dropped as I realized what this truck was really here for and what it meant.

America's Most Wanted Is Missing

Posted by Mary Lu on Thursday, November 15th, 2007

Well, she hasn’t been heard of Since Friday, Nov 1. You know who. She said she only stuck around for Mr. Forty-Days For Life. I tried to tell her he never left. He always was here before too. But as all lies go, they are too exhausting to continue. But we are here…for life. As promised, I, Vita T, will go on as always and forever in the lives of the precious people around the globe who know that the innocent unborn and their mother’s need protection and the choice to live. But I know you’re listening, Emily. And we always welcome your voice again. know some of your last words… [Continue reading . . . »]
