Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood

Public Service Announcement

Posted by Mary Lu on Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

The serpentEric sent a message the other day. We are approaching our one year anniversary of the battle's beginnings. It made me think. We are all praying. Why then is Planned Parenthood still here?

Perhaps our prayer needs to be punched up a level. Although we very often have events at which we gather to pray together for the cause, we usually pray within the secrets of our hearts. That is indeed a fruitful and beautiful way to pray as God knows the innermost stirrings that lie there in the hearts of everyone.

But perhaps its time we make it publicly known just how much prayer we are investing here. Yes, I know. When you pray you should go into your room where no one can see you except God alone. But that is the point. Since God alone hears our prayer, it won't slap satan in the face as powerfully as when the devil himself sees it and hears that it is happening.

Satan does not necessarily know what we say when we pray to God. Making this publicly known shows the devil the power of God. This also will inspire others to pray for the cause. So what do you think. I feel so strongly that God wants everyone to know He is in charge here, it is his timetable and that we trust him.

Here's what I suggest. In the replies below, write the time and length your prayer time is that is devoted exclusively for closing of Planned Parenthood. Even if it is for only a few minutes. If you can devote more time, great. For the Catholics out there, time before the Blessed Sacrament in a Holy Hour (even a Holy few minutes) is wonderful. Encourage others to pray about this and inform you of there prayer time. I will keep tabs on this and update you.

For those out there that don't feel religion should be involved here . . . it won't deter us who pray for this. It will only inspire us all the more. God is in charge. Period.

    Yes! 1 hour today!

O Lord, my Lord, how excellent (majestic and glorious) is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory on or above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and unweaned infants You have established strength because of Your foes, that You might silence the enemy and the avenger. I sing praise to Your name, O Most High. I ask
the enemy be turned back from these Little Ones in the womb.

I cry aloud to the Lord, Most High, who is Awesome in
Majesty, the Alpha and the Omega. The One who allows
beginnings and brings an end for His glory. I lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy. I pour out my complaint before Him. These precious gifts from the Father of Lights may their light shine brilliantly for the Lord all the days of their life. Lord, we ask for an end to abortion.
    In Jesus's Name. Amen.

You've been praying for a year. Either 1) there is no god and it's irrelevant; 2) you're not being heard; or 3) god is just fine with PP.

I'm not sure what your purpose chiming in here is. It is just to mock Christians? You comment obviously is not constructive.

Try #4 … God allows people to have free will.

Roger, those were very generous comments towards Student. I'd say that a fourth option is that God exists and is infinite. He does things on his own time and for purposes that we cannot understand.

Honestly, though, Student has long demonstrated that her presence here is not for constructive dialogue but to act as an agitator.

  6. Professor says:

Id say that Student is here to support birth control and access to abortion. Since many of those opposed to these are Christian (at least in name), she finds herself opposing them (as do I). Since many people base their opposition because of their belief in a deity, their religious beliefs become fair target.

I think the full text should read:

"God is just fine with PP…for now"

For an unbeliever, Student would not understand the concept of "In His time".

Let's be patient and continue with the prayers and the struggle, shall we?

Is it even remotely possible that there may be some validity in what I said? Perhaps, if there is a god, s/he has no problem with PP? Or perhaps there really is no god? I'm even willing to admit there's a "chance" that you may be right. I don't think so, but it's not completely out of the realm of possibility.

It is us, God's people who have allowed such horrible acts as abortion to continue in this country. We could have stopped this a long time ago! But we as a people are weak, apathetic and put other things before God. Even among those who proclaim Christ as Savior do little to stop the Holocaust of His children. We better change are lives and ask God to forgive our selfishness. When I think about the many more things I could have done all my years on this earth, I want to cry. But now, more than ever it is time to really live as Christ says and put Him first above all else!! Why do many Christians not vote Pro-life? I believe money is the root of most evil.
Also lack of trusting God. We can not be on both sides of the fence, you know what God says about that!!

  10. Matt Yonke says:

    Student,

Well, Sacred Scripture teaches us that the fool says in his heart that there is no God, and no small number of atheists (such as Nietchze and Sartre) have given very serious thought to just that question.

But that aside, I must maintain my position of fidelity to the topic of the post.

If you're not going to post about the hours you've spent praying at PP, I'll have to ask you to take it to the forum.

  11. Student says:

This is the prayer of a friend of mine who claims to have used it at PP (thus meeting the forum guidelines):

    PRAYER FOR CHOICE

Wise Ones, who we have known by many names, be with us now.

We are seekers, we are journeyers of many paths,
yet we find ourselves here together, defending the rights of our sisters, to reconcile their lives with their consciences, to make the best CHOICE they can.

We trust our sisters to make these decisions for their own bodies,
as we trust in your mercy and guidance,
as we trust in your protection today.

We thank you for your kindness,
for allowing us this opportunity to act on our principles.

We thank you for the gift of free will,
the gift of conscience, and the gift of life,
even when these things may seem to make our path more difficult.

Mother and Father, who hear the cries of all people, be with us as we go out, and protect the women exercising the freewill you gave us all.
    Protect us from harm.
Keep love in our hearts, especially for those who will hate us for what we do.

We ask this, in your many names,
    Blessed Be.

  13. Karen K. says:

We must keep praying to God to give us grace and courage to defend His children, and all life. Grace to soften the hearts of others to choose life. To go out to others and spread the message that God is merciful and He loves us. He loves us all, most especially the "little ones".

Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world, doesn't matter if they're in doesn't matter if they're out (of the womb) Jesus loves the little children of the world.

This is a little pray I came up with just before sidewalk counseling last Saturday:

Dear Lord Jesus, Please give me the words to say
    to help the mother's, father's
and most especially your sweet babies today.

Directions to Heaven: Turn right and go straight.

O Lord, our Lord, the majesty of Your name fills the earth! The Lord Most High is awesome. You are the great
    King of all the earth.

Our backsliding is great; we have sinned against you.
Although our sins testify against us, O Lord, do something for the sake of your name.

O Lord, our Lord, deliver these Little Ones souls from
death and their eyes from tears and their feet from stumbling, that they may walk before you, Lord in the land of the living. In Jesus name, Amen

Thanks to your holiness for giving us each the freedom to make our own decisions and the rights over our own bodies. May your work be ever on our minds. May you smite those who wish to take away the benefits you have provided to us and crush the foes of freedom! May your infinite love show the infidels the errors of their ways: they confuse fetuses for babies, and see fertilized eggs as more important than adults! Give us the strength to fight these barbarians and the courage to persist in the fields of their ignorance.

And to your friend and co-creator the Flying Spaghetti Monster,

    August 14th, 2008 at 5:01 pm
  22. JerryN says:

Sincerity is not a virtue. Someone penning a prayer does not automatically make that person (or his/her prayer) a light for the world. We have seen many scoundrels throughout history that sincerely believed in their cause, not the least of which were Lenin and Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and Hitler. All of these no doubt were sincerely devoted to their beliefs, and yet they wrought havoc upon the world and together are responsible for the loss of hundreds of millions of innocent lives.

Oh Holy Spirit. Drive Satan and his legions from Aurora and into the abyss so they can no longer spread their evil practice of abortion as described below by a nurse who witnessed the killing in action:
Here is a description from a nurse who witnessed the same method performed on a 26½-week fetus and who testified“‘Dr. Haskell went in with forceps and grabbed thebaby’s legs and pulled them down into the birth canal. Then he delivered the baby’s body and the arms—everything but the head. The doctor kept the head right inside the uterus. . . .“‘The baby’s little fingers were clasping and un-clasping, and his little feet were kicking. Then the doctor stuck the scissors in the back of his head, and the baby’s arms jerked out, like a startle reaction, like a flinch, like a baby does when he thinks he is going to fall. “‘The doctor opened up the scissors, stuck a high-powered suction tube into the opening, and sucked thebaby’s brains out. Now the baby went completely limp. . . . “‘He cut the umbilical cord and delivered the pla-centa. He threw the baby in a pan, along with theplacenta and the instruments he had just used.’”

  29. Karen K. says:

I too thank all who pray for the unborn and their parents. Thank you for your dear prayers as we continue this sad task of helping to save innocent lives from abortion. Your prayers are ever felt so profoundly as I counsel at the mill. We can do unbelievable things with God. God knows every person's story there, we do not. That is why prayer is so important, because prayer enables us to step aside and let the Lord do His work through us.
Last week was an incredible experience witnessing so many humble, faith filled people who truly care for all people. And they do it with such love, compassion and not a drop of judgment toward those who they are helping.
There was a young man sitting outside on the curb by the mill waiting for I suspect his girlfriend or wife as she was having an abortion. This man did not speak English, so one of the prayer warriors was asked to speak with him. I could not understand a single word that was said, but what I did understand was the pure love that was being sent that young man's way. With a beautiful long stem yellow rose extended out by the faithful man to the one in distress was a sight to behold! His loving tone of his voice and gentleness was of the Lord for sure! The young man did accept the rose. I witness our Lord's very existence every time I am there. And what I am about to tell you some will not believe. A wonderful miracle occurred at the mill on August 3. I spent the day there praying and sharing with others as I counseled. At around 4:30pm a mother came with her, I'd say, twelve year old daughter. They said they were waiting for more of their church community to come, so they could all pray. They were from St. Mary's Church in Aurora, a people of Spanish decent. What wonderful, faith filled people. So devout and humble a people, they put me to shame. Before the others arrived they told me that they were bringing with them a Statue of Our Mother Mary, the Mother of God. It is called the Rosa Mysitica. They said a miracle has been occurring with this statue. The statue is from their church. All arrived, around 15 people. They asked if I would lead the prayers of the Divine Mercy; a prayer expressing the great mercy the Lord has for all, and the Holy Rosary which are prayers of the Gospel. I said I do not speak Spanish but they said that it was ok, I could say the first part in English and they would say the latter in Spanish. It was so beautiful!! After we had finished we were talking and I was handing out prayer cards. All of a sudden the woman who was holding the statue of Mary started to yell, "she is crying, Mary is crying!!' I went to her and with my own eyes witnessed this magnificent miracle!! The corners of her eyes were welling up with tears, like a human eye. The sun was shining so brightly that day, and the tears were just glistening! We all started to cry from the awesome beauty of such a thing! Also for the mere fact that our Mother's tears are because her Son's children are being destroyed. God's own creation!! All of us witnessed this miracle, including a holy, faith filled, God fearing man who otherwise most likely would not have accepted such a thing if it were told to him from another. Please keep coming to pray and helping to defend the most innocent among us, the unborn. Offer your sufferings up for their safety and for all those you are affected by abortion. God Bless, Karen K.

    ———————————-

Yes, and you are not misunderstanding that quote…just like what Mary Lu implied, our real home is in Heaven WITH our Father.

This life is just a temporary one…a sort of staging area. This is where we make our CHOICE whether we want to be with our Father in Heaven when this life ends OR not.

We make that CHOICE by either accepting and living His commandments or rejecting it.

Unfortunately, accepting/ living His commandments entails suffering and sacrifice…hence, the "valley of tears" reference.

BUT the sacrifices/suffering endured here on earth for His sake is not wasted…it becomes redemptive, when offered up to Him in Union with His suffering when He was on earth.

A little long but I hope that clears that up…
