Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood

May protest brings more new activists

Picket line in front of Planned ParenthoodLast Saturday, May 17th, our monthly protest at Planned Parenthood was finally blessed with some real spring weather! Though it's been warming up for months, we've had nothing but cold and wind every third Saturday. So it was a nice change of pace to head out to New York Street and Oakhurst Drive in shorts and a t-shirt.

As the sun shone down, the picket line grew. Dozens carried "Planned Parenthood Lies to You" and "Planned Parenthood BAD for Aurora" signs among others, showing the consistent, peaceful dissent that has only gotten larger in the Fox Valley over the last nine months. Several large signs bearing the image of Our Lord holding and aborted baby reading "Abortion Kills His Children" lined the north side of New York Street.

Prayer vigil behind Planned ParenthoodSeveral people kept a quiet prayer presence on the sidewalk behind Planned Parenthood, praying for the women entering the clinic and mourning the deaths of their little ones. Sidewalk counselors were present as they are every day Planned Parenthood is open, standing at the front lines offering hope to and help to abortion-bound mothers.

Upwards of one hundred people took part in the various facets of the protest and I was privileged to meet several new pro-lifers who joined us for the very first time on Saturday! It is always a great encouragement to see how fired up people become when they take that first step into doing something about their pro-life convictions.

At 10:30, everyone gathered on the corner of New York and Oakhurst for some words of encouragement and a closing prayer. Eric Scheidler reminded the crowd of the three-fold attack on the very roots of our humanity the abortion commits: It attacks motherhood, fatherhood, and childhood. All three of these basic parts of our human identity are ripped to pieces at Planned Parenthood, which is what makes abortion such a formidable enemy in our culture.

The protest was a great shot in the arm, as it usually is. Between the weather and the influx of new pro-lifers, I left very encouraged. Mark your calendars for our next monthly protest, June 21st, 9 to 10:30 a.m., and invite a pro-life friend who hasn't joined in the fight yet. You'll be doing them a huge favor by giving them an opportunity to stand up for what they believe in.

I encourage all to become involved in promoting life. It will become a way of life for you. You will carry it with you everywhere you go, not just at the pro-life rallies, or when coming out to pray, the love of protecting life will permeate your very existence. The Lord will lead you to people and people will come to you, even in your own "back yard". The great joy I receive in knowing I helped to save a life is beyond words…
Yesterday, I was sitting in our school's car line waiting to pick up my son, when one of my son's classmate's mom came up to my car. She knew I was envolved in "Families Against Planned Parenthood". Well, she told me her younger sister, about age 17yrs. has a friend who is pregnant and has decided to have an abortion. She asked what I could do. I had all these wonderful fliers in my car because I do sidewalk counseling at the PP site. I gave them to her. She was of Spanish decent, I had some Spanish fliers but they said she can also read English, so I gave her many fliers of information. I told her I would be happy to come and talk with her, help her in any way. The car line was starting to leave and I jumped out of my car and ran to their car quickly and said, tell her not to do it, she will not ever regret choosing life! Tell her I will even adopt her baby if that is what she would want.
I am ecstatic to tell you that today in car line I asked what had happened, she said she gave the information to the girl, her name is Marta, and Marta read it and started to cry, and decided not to have the abortion! Praise God! I will be keeping in touch with them to help her through her pregnancy in any way I can. The joy is beyond words!

I am a rookie with the pro-life movement. However, since my involvement I can not even begin to tell everyone my incredible love for the wonderful people I have met. God has opened doors beyond my dreams. Including this very kind women Karen K. this sat. at PP in Aurora. There is no doubt that the Holy Spirit has had everything to do this my love for the unborn and for myself to give my life to this Holy cause. I dedicate myself now and all the days of my life to fight for the helpless lives of God's most innocent prescious little ones. Thank-you to Eric Schiedler. To Mary and Earl and everyone for all they have done to help me get started. And Karen, I am so happy to have met you this Sat. at the PP in Aurora. I loved your story and how you touched that young girls life. To Matt, you are a very nice young man. To all the people whom came out Sat.. It feels like we are all a family. I hope to see you all out there next time in June. See you all there.

    Karen K.,

Thank you for the wonderful work that you do and your dedication to the cause of life….

I'm just wondering if you have referred or would like to refer Marta to a Project Gabriel group?

    God Bless.

I am sure those who have been involved in the pro-life movement in the area know this but those who are getting started…the Kane County health Department on Highland Ave. near Mercy Center has what they call "one stop shopping". They have fliers all over the medical buildings at Mercy campus. You can walk in and get a pregnancy test. They will give you an appointment for paperwork and tell you what info you need to bring. Help you fill out and file all the paperwork for Medicaid and give you a temp health card until the papers are complete so you can get prenatal care. They will also help you get on WIC and any other social service programs you qualify for. The down side is that if you are still on the fence about keeping the baby they will refer you as easily to PP and a crisis pregnancy center.

Did anybody read this article from the BEACON today?

Why is Aurora a magnet for all these so-called "health needs"?

    May 27th, 2008 at 1:58 pm
  7. Sylvia says:

Why Aurora? Note the article says because of its size and "diverse" population. "Diverse" is code for "minority" which is code for "Hispanic" in Aurora's case. Aurora has a large Hispanic population, which is a magnet for population control programs.

Planned Parenthood started out from Margaret Sanger's vision of a white America, where "minorities" were best eradicated. From her writings, we can see that she considered the unchecked births of the "unfit" (which included minorities) to be "the greatest present menace to civilization." "We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population," she wrote in a 1939 letter to Dr. Gamble (of Proctor & Gamble), her regional director for the Birth Control Federation of America. She agreed with him that by enlisting religious ministers, whom the "Negroes" would trust, they could best secretly pursue their goal of eradication. Interesting stuff. Is it any wonder then, that PP and other organizations like the Robert Crown Center that promote birth control would want to situate themselves in areas, including Aurora, that have high Hispanic and black populations? Society has been duped. Even many religious leaders, as Sanger had hoped, have bought the lie and led their people astray.

We are in great need of prayer for a 14 year old couple that is scheduled to have an abortion tomorrow morning at 7:00am. They are being greatly pressured by their parents. Please pray that God will intervene.

We all need to work hard in trying to let the public know the truth. Continue to expose what Planned Parenthood is trying to hide. These two sites do just that. God Bless!

    Karen,

Is there any chance this couple would consider adoption?

    May 29th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
  12. Karen K. says:

    Janet,

I do not know this couple I was given this prayer request from a fellow counselor in Rockford. I do believe if the young couple were given the truth about their baby, they would have a chance to choose life which would include the thought of adoption, since it sounds like the parents have no intention of helping raise the child.I will see what else I can do, keep praying, for the couple and most especially the couple's parents, miracles are always happening! God bless, Karen

I just e-mailed this message to my fellow counselor:
I am praying for this young couple, but is there anything else that can be done? Has any one been able to talk with their parents? Don't you just wish you could go to their house and talk with them? It is so sad and desperate! The clock is just ticking away for that little one as they decide its destiny. Oh, Jesus open their hearts, send them your Grace!

    God bless, karen
