"It's a matter of LIFE & DEATH" April 26 Pro-Life Rally!
Posted by Eric Scheidler, April 3rd, 2008

Since even before Planned Parenthood opened their huge "Abortion Fortress" last year, we have been there praying, protesting and reaching out to the community.
Why? Because it's a matter of life and death.
That will be our message at the Families Against Planned Parenthood 2008 Spring Event. Highlights include:
Prayer Walk for Life around the block- Face the Truth Tour in memory of babies lost to abortion
- Baby Shower to benefit local pregnancy centers
- Cemetery of Choice to mourn mothers killed by abortion
- Free "Choose Life" Caps for the first 100 participants
Parking and Shuttle: Parking is available at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 801 S. Eola Road (map). Please park at back of the lot, adjacent to the Waubonsie H.S. soccer field. A free shuttle bus will run continuously from the parking lot to the rally site, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Help promote the April 26 rally!
You can help promote the April 26 pro-life rally by asking your pastor to put an announcement in the bulletin:
Bulletin announcement copy on the April 26 Pro-Life Rally [PDF]- Full-page promotional flyer on the April 26 Pro-Life Rally [PDF]
- Quarter-page promotional flyer on the April 26 Pro-Life Rally [PDF]
Show your friends what a pro-life rally looks like!
You can promote the rally by inviting your friends to attend. Friends who have never attended an event like this may be reluctant, now knowing what to expect. This video playlist of past rallies shows just how peaceful, prayerful and upbeat they are:
I am putting this announcement in two church bulletins; please do the same in your churches as well. All who believe in the sanctity of life should be at this rally. It is not enough to just say we are pro-life; we need to show we are through our very actions. Red marker it on your calendars and pray for good weather!
p.s. I would like to ask all of you to please pray for a little 17 mth old boy who has a cancerous tumor in his liver, his name is John Henry. The doctors told the parents that they may not be able to operate. Please pray for a miracle that is will shrink and dissappear. Jesus wants us to ask and with Him all things are possible!Thankyou and God bless!

I will be praying for all who attend the rally on April 26th. I will especially pray to God that he will intervene in this culture of death and make it a matter of life. God, help us all, especially the poor mothers and babies.

Karen K,
Lets pray this together for baby John Henry.
O my Jesus, you who once said, ask anything of the Father in my name and he shall grant it to you. Behold, in your name I ask the Father for the grace of his Holy Spirit to come down upon John Henry. To bless him and to protect him. To drive Satan and his cancerous legions far from him, and to guide him into your Sacred Heart.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amonst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners.
Now and at the hour of our death. Amen
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the
Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in thee.

Thank you truthseeker. I said the prayer you wrote and could sense the love of Jesus, the purest form of love. We ask for healing of our loved ones because we love, and value the gift of this life with one another. If it is God's will to heal John Henry, good will come from it, for all, if not, good will also come from it, for all. God's will is always for our good. I have a daughter that holds it against God that he allows suffering in the world. She says what good god would do such a thing. Well, the more I grow closer to Jesus the more I have come to realize the value of suffering. Although we do not necessarily want to suffer, it has the possibility of actually saving souls when offered as redemptive suffering to our Lord. He WIll bring good fruit out of it. The old saying, "offer it up" is what we all should do. It becomes a gift presented to our Lord and like a mirror, that gift bounces off Jesus back to all who are in need of graces and blessings, to lead them to Him. In many ways suffering is a mystery, but not really. Bad things do happen, but when we are right with God, only good can come from it. Offer your sufferings for the conversion of hearts, for the girls and boys who are listening to the evil lies of satan and living unchaste lives and hurting one another and aborting the innocent, their own children! Every headache, sickness, emotional trial, financial difficulty, etc. offer it to Jesus and your burden will be made lighter and you will find great joy. Jesus I trust in YOU!

Karen K.
I think we have all struggled with that "how could a good God let bad things happen?" question. It is actually healthy to question things like why there is evil in the world. But if your daughter is carrying a "blame" on God, that can be a very destructive thing. Prayer is our strongest weapon and wether she was ready to believe or not daily prayer with your family is a sword and shield against the snares of evil.

I would appreciate all your prayers on behalf of a friend's preborn as well. I am copying her request here:
Thanks to everyone that has told us that they are thinking of us and praying for us, we really do appreciate it.
We went to the perinatal OBGYN today and had more ultrasounds, an amniocentisis, and tests. After meeting with him, it is confirmed that our little boy does have massive hydrocephalus. The doc is not sure why, what caused it, or for how long, but water has been accummulating in his head and pushing on his brain. I am not completely sure what it all means but the doc's exact words were, "it is a poor prognosis". The baby will have surgery immediately after birth in order to drain and put in a shunt, but beyond this, we do not know what it means for him. The doctor is convinced that he does have brain damage, he does not know to what extent. He also believes that the baby may have central nervous system damage, but we will not know that until after birth.
I do know that he will have to have surgery and have a shunt, I know this has been confirmed…however, I believe that God can be working miracles right now in order to prevent mental and physical issues/delays/damage. Although, if God does decide for us to have a child with certain limitations, then I will handle that as it comes…but until then, I will pray.
I am 33 weeks and he would like to wait until I am at least 34 weeks (or even longer if able) before taking him out because he does not want to compact his brain issues with underdeveloped lungs and other organs. The amnio that we did today should be able to tell us the lung development, so when I meet with him next week, we will find out more about when little boy Glenn is to be born.
The doc did give us the option of termination, out of legal obligation, but that is not an option for us…we love him, no matter what. He is our baby and we will do whatever we can to ensure he has the best life ever! God has intended him to be part of our family and I am convinced that no matter what happens, he was meant to be ours. I am also still convinced that after being shunted (I don't think that is a word), he may develop perfectly and lead a normal life, my God of miracles can do that. I am praying for miracles and I know that may not mean exactly what I want it to, but whatever it is…he is a very loved little boy. This does not mean that we are not sad, we are very sad. This sucks, it is not something that you expect to find out just 7 weeks before you are due, or ever…
I have appointments with a surgeon, my doc, and a pedicatric neurologist again next tuesday and should find out more about what our next steps will be.
I know you all have lives of your own to contend with, but I just wanted to keep you updated and let you all know that we do appreciate your thoughts and prayers and need them all the more as life continues on and we try to move with it.
Appreciating our friends and family,
Kari (Matt, Ava, Wrigley, and baby boy)

Dear Sandy, What a beautiful testimony to how God wants us to live our lives. I will pray for their precious little boy in the womb and for Kari and Matt, for strength, and peace. How many times have I heard of stories where the doctors gave a grim diagnosis and then the child was born fine? How many have been killed because not trusting our God? Also, those who have children that are not perfect have said that that child has been a real blessing to their families.(And anyway, nobody is perfect) That doesn't mean they are glad it happened, we all want to be healthy, but God allowed the child to continue living for a reason and it is a dangerous thing to play God and decide who is worthy of life and who is not. We are not God, and the world needs to know that, and stop acting as if we are. That is and always has been our problem from the beginning. We need to humble ourselves and hand over our lives to our creator, with a trusting heart. When we do so we are a people of true love and compassion. There is a temendous value in suffering. Jesus we trust in You.

Karen,
Amen to everything you said. I agree. Thank you for praying for them. We are asking for a miracle and trusting God for the outcome, no matter what.

I am going to the teen group at my parish tonite to tell them about the rally on April 26. I will try to get some kids together for this event.

I don't know if there this is just a local blog or if there are people who live outside the Aurora area who are read this. My family and I will be at the rally in Aurora on April 26th. However, if you live in the Springfield area, or out of state for that matter, Bound 4 Life is planning rallies outside every Supreme court building across the US also on April 26. If you are not able to join us in Aurora, please consider attending another prayerful gathering to support the end of abortion.

Elsie,
Thanks so much for spreading the word! Enthusiasm for the pro-life cause is contagious. Spreading the word with joy is the best way to get others involved. I hope some of your friends can come on the 26th!

I would like to call Blessed Stanislaus Papczynski to the attention of those praying for difficult pregnancies and ill pre - born babies.
In 2006 it was acknowledged that a miracle performed by God through the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God Stanislzus of Jesus and Mary, Priest and Founder of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the Most B.V.M. namely "the unexpected resumption of pregnancy at the 7th -8th week of gestation, following a spontaneous interruption caused by an internal miscarriage documented by ultrasound, with the subsequent development toward the normal result of the birth, without negative consequences for the fetus which was born alive and viable on October 17,2001."
I know that was long but I copied it from the Decree on Miracle. I found him quite a comfort during this pregnancy. After my first ultrasound the Dr. was very concerned and sent me for a more intensive one. A friend gave me a pamphlet on Blessed Papczynski on the day of my second ultrasound and she and others had been praying for me. As I read the pamphlet in the waiting room I could feel the Holy Spirit and knew everything would be okay. The ultrasound was fine and the Dr. performing it couldn't understand why they had sent me to him.
Did we have a miracle? I don't know but I am grateful for the comfort of prayer and for the good outcome.

Calling all Christians! Have you seen what Oprah is up to lately? Pretty scary stuff. She's made up her own religion and people are falling for it! Go to this You Tube site:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW4LLwkgmqA
Talk about this to other Christians and show them this youtube of Oprah.
Dear Jesus, I am sorry for what is happening in this world of ours, HAVE MERCY ON US!
April 8th, 2008 at 6:54 pm
I haven't looked at the blog for quite some time but I wanted to pass on a website for those with prayer requests. It is www.williaminthelightofjesus.com who is a friend of mine with a very strong gift of healing from Our Lord. Recently, he asked me to pray to St.Raphael the Archangel to come against all these cancers because he is hearing of so much of it even in infants such as dear John Henry. In his healing services it is Raphael who comes with all his angels and brings God's healing to the people. Of course, William has no control over what God does. He has told me that God does foremost what is best for the spiritual healing of the person which is lasting. All other healings are temporal. I do call on St. Raphael to come against all demonic spirits by name (he knows their names) in Jesus' name and destroy them and then I ask the Holy Spirit to come and fill these spaces completely with God's joy and peace and love and healing
and finally I pray for protection for myself and my family and all those affected by this. I hope this is helpful.
April 9th, 2008 at 9:04 am
Thank you Sally, I have sent many prayers to William. I have faith that Jesus will heal, if not physically, then spiritually. God bless you!

Karen,
NOT the PEACE Alliance — what a horrible thought that is!!!!!!!!!!
Why is your "belief" in god any different than a "belief" in Zeus, Mithra, etc? While you think it's "pretty scary" that people might want other religions, I find it even more frightening that there are people wanting to force their religion on others.
April 12th, 2008 at 8:16 am
Student,
Tell me what is peaceful about the slaughter of innocent human beings in the womb? Is Opray really a peace promoter? This new church of Opray's, she is pro-choice (choice of what? choice of murdering millions of innocent humans that cannot defend themselves). If we are to have peace on this earth it has to start in the womb.
"Men do not differ much about what things they will call evils; they differ enormously about what evils they will call excusable." G.K. Chesterton
April 12th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
KarenK,
I'm not much of an Oprah fan myself….but really, the Church of Oprah, c'mon….where is it? What time are the services?
Again, why is your "belief" in god any different than a "belief" in Zeus, Mithra, etc?
April 12th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
Wow that is great news. The fence is down. Hearing we have a strong case alsome. Let's get them out of here
meaning in our city. Woundering hows it coming along in the court so far?
April 14th, 2008 at 7:39 pm
I am constantly surprised that so many people don't seem to understand how they became "who they are". Each one started out as a fertilized egg, then went on to become an embryo, a fetus, a pre-born, an infant, a toddler, a student, a middle-schooler, a high schooler, a young adult and will be a middle-ager and, eventually, a senior citizen. Lots of descriptions, phases, but all one and the same person!
Those who believe in abortion think they're spreading up-to-date info but it's as old as the hills!
This thinking became especially wide-spread during the pre-Civil Rights years when the races were segregated.
The supporters of segregation already had their full rights! Today those who support abortion have already been born! And the rallying cry for both of these groups is identical: "They're not really people!"
Who will be next on that list?
SHAME!!!
April 14th, 2008 at 9:39 pm
When I was a little child upon my Mother's knee, the world was something big and grand; it held a place for me! She told me of the right to life, the right to liberty, the right to search for happiness; to worship as I please. These were words of promise - of a dream come true!
But now these words no longer hold the promise of the good life. For now my country's lost its way and given up the fight! The most important rights of all: the rights to live and be free, are denied within the very halls where the promise was made to me.
What can I believe in? Oh, where can I turn?
History repeats itself, they say, and the signs are all here to see. We condemn Hitler for what he did and, yet, we follow his lead!
You say, "There's no comparison!"; that he was wrong and, yet, we are right?
When murder comes by a healer's hands, even sadder is our plight!
Why are hearts so blinded by this reality????
Hollow words I can't believe! Murder I will not condone! Silent I will no longer be: I want the world to know:
The right to life is a precious gift; THINK! it's already so late! A right which carries a guarantee leaves no room for debate!
I will not be silent while there's life in me!
Without the right to life, my friend, there IS no liberty!
April 14th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
Many of today's politicians are hiding behind a smoke-screen, basing their campaigns on secondary issues. When this country, founded on the unalienable right to life, liberty and the persuit of happiness cancels all three by supporting the killing of the most innocent, helpless and defenseless among us, how much lower can we go? If we stop killing unborn babies, God WILL bless America! Right now, it is a "killing field"!
Remember Joseph and Mary went into exile for awhile because the authorities wanted to kill the baby she was carrying. In our time, the parents want to have their own babies killed! It's almost impossible to believe that, isn't it? Andit is equally hard to believe that any politicians would support it. When life is snuffed out, liberty and the persuit of happiness are gone along with it!
WAKE UP, AMERICA!

April 17th, 2008 at 2:21 am
yomama,
Abortion is barbaric, why keep it legal?
April 17th, 2008 at 2:23 am
What about abortion makes you want to reserve your right to have one legally? Would yu really abort your baby if you got pregnant?
April 17th, 2008 at 2:28 am
Yourmom said, yes to life! duh

Hey - if someone wants to donate and write it off as a tax break, how does that happen? Do they write a check out to someone?
Hate to be so logistical about something that's otherwise an act of kindness - just curious.

Alex,
FVFAPP is a grassroots effort. The Pro Life Action League has supported this effort financially, as well as the Thomas More Society, who has donated their legal efforts to our cause.
You can see our donation page here or go to the other links to donate.
God Bless,

Alex, post#4 on the above link has the skinny on the pregnancy centers you were asking about.

The rally was awesome. It also got good press coverage. My personal thanks to all who rallied for "life".
April 26th, 2008 at 7:35 pm
Where is the news coverage? I could find nothing. Any links?
April 28th, 2008 at 10:44 am
Pbfa,
The only stories I've seen so far is this one in the Naperville Sun, which was published in abbreviated form by the Aurora Beacon. A couple of facts are wrong (the balloons represented babies saved, not aborted; the Cemetery of Choice was made up of gray tombstones, not white crosses), but still good coverage of the event.
I'll keep people updated if we find more stories.
In Christ,
Matt
