Pro-lifers pray the "Way of the Cross" on Good Friday

It was a chilly Good Friday morning last week when eighty of us gathered at Planned Parenthood for the "Scriptural Way of the Cross", led by Fr. Cesar Pajarillo of St. John Neumann Church. We stood together on the sidewalk behind the building, the site of the round-the-clock vigil that launched our fight against the "Abortion Fortress."
Fourteen scriptural passages on the suffering and death of Our Lord were read over a bullhorn by various members of the group. After each, Fr. Cesar offered prayers for our deepened commitment to following Christ.
At the conclusion of the service, we raised our hands over the Planned Parenthood building and prayed together for the babies being killed there that day, for their mothers, for the clinic workers, and for an end to abortion.
Then I offered some remarks linking Christ's victory over death with our pro-life mission, and led the group in singing "Were You There". Many stayed on afterwards to pray the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary together.
Isn't it the greatest joy being with those who know Jesus and love Him, more than anything else in the whole world? Like anything that brings you great happiness, you what to let others know and experience that same joy. But it is so much more difficult today to convey this to the secular world, oh, what they are missing! Let us continue to pray in public and smile, laugh, and share Jesus through our very existence with the time God gives us on this earth.
