Action Speaks Louder Than Words.
Pro-Life Seminar
Saturday January 19, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Our Lady of Mercy Parish, 701 S. Eola Rd., Aurora
Register now (only $25)!

I've always been staunchly pro-life. But over the past few months—like so many readers of this blog—I've actually put my pro-life convictions into action.
Joining pro-life rallies, speaking out at the City Council and above all praying out at Planned Parenthood has been a huge blessing for me and my family. At the same time, I've seen that it takes more than just a willingness to act—we need the right tools to be really effective.
Get the tools you need to fight abortion
Good pro-life information, strategies and materials can mean the difference between being written off as an extremist and really making an impact—and savies babies and their mothers from abortion.
That is why I'm so excited to announce the "Action Speaks Louder than Words" pro-life seminar coming up on January 19 at Our Lady of Mercy Church.
As part of their commemoration of the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Our Lady of Mercy Right to Life Committee is hosting this seminar, featuring Pro-Life Action League experts and others who will equip you to effectively spread the pro-life message and change our culture.
Pro-life leaders will share their expertise with us
Seminar instructors include pro-life leaders like Joe and Ann Scheidler, Patricia Bainbridge, attorney Tom Brejcha, our own Eric Scheidler and more. They will cover such topics as:
- Communicating the pro-life message clearly and powerfully
- Counseling abortion-bound mothers at Planned Parenthood
- Confronting the abortion business with dynamic public protest
- Defending your First Amendment rights and dealing with police
- Keeping Planned Parenthood out of your child's school
The seminar costs $25 per person, which includes lunch, a copy of the Pro-Life Action League's moving DVD "Action Speaks Louder than Words", and a copy of Joe Scheidler's powerful book CLOSED: 99 Ways to Stop Abortion and seminar materials.
Mark your calendar and then register online now or send your registration by fax or mail [PDF] to become a more effective witness for the pro-life cause! I hope to see you there.
Any chance to post the seminar online? We'd love to be there, but live in Colorado.

I doubt it Marie….unless you're willing to pay for the privilege. Looks like another money maker for the Scheidlers.

Student, I hope you can make it to the ZBA meeting Monday night!
There is a motion to close down the Planned Parenthood.
Wouldn't it be tough for you to learn in school, knowing that the local planned parenthood won't be there? Keeping your pants on is always a good option for those who cherish a choice.
See everyone at the ZBA Monday night!!

Dan:
I've learned enough in school to know that there is no comma in the following sentence: "Wouldn't it be tough for you to learn in school, knowing that the local planned parenthood won't be there?"
I don't think I have too much to worry about. I'm sure PP will still be there, however, you can hope.
"Keeping your pants on is always a good option for those who cherish a choice."
Thanks for the advice. I'll pass it along to my husband. Given that neither of us want children, do you advocate that we simply cease being intimate with one another?
January 7th, 2008 at 1:51 pm
Student,
There is a modern method called NFP (check link here)
that can be naturally.
January 7th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
That can be used naturally w/o any side effects….
January 7th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
And if it does fail……?
January 7th, 2008 at 3:02 pm
Student,
…if you want a 100% fool-proof method…then you have to go with Abstinence.
January 7th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
Student,
Once conceived, though dependent upon you, the child has a life of it's own and desrves protections society gives to all members. Since Roe V Wade our Supreme Court's understanding of this concept has now just begun to acknowledge the fact that nobody including the child's parents has a constitutional right to take that baby's life. That was the rationale behind overturning the partial-birth abortion ban.
As I understand it, and correct me if I'm wrong, PC'ers feel bad about abortion and don't think it is a good thing, but they want to protect their right to abortion. To those I would say please avoid places like PP that place no value on life in the womb. Why would you seek care from a doctor's office that kills babies? If you are ever in need of help making a decision like wether or not to have an abortion, PP will never counsel that your baby has any value, otherwise would make them guilty of mass injustice against humanity.
I think most women do believe that human life, even babies inside the womb, has great value. Eventually I believe caring mothers will stop using PP's other services too once they see that PP is not about women's care, but uses it as a front to their abortion business.

BTW Student,
That is precisely why PP targets children and why they are so against Parental Notification laws. They want to indoctrinate our youth to devalue life in the womb without caring mother's being able to intervene.
PP are predators.

Ramir,
Abstinance is simply not an option, nor is it realistic for an adult couple. We've taken every possible precaution we can take, but I cannot say I wouldn't abort if I became pregnant.
Paul,
Thanks for your opinion, but I see it differently. PP offers me (and most of my college age friends) affordable healthcare and I will continue to use them unless you can give me the name/address/phone of another provider that will provide me with birth control at the same or lower price.
Nobody is attempting to indoctrinate "the youth" other than the religious right. How about giving them accurate sex education instead of pretending every last one of them will remain abstinant?

They also have centers in East Aurora, at East High School of Aurora, and in Elgin. BTW my husband and I were together for four years (in college) before marriage and we maintained abstinence. Anyone who thinks abstinence is the best way can make it work. You are selling yourself and your peers short by saying it isn't realistic.

Marie started out this blog with a legitimate question.
There are people who would like to attend ,but for many
reasons cannot. What Student did is taught on the few
pro-abort sites (yes-PP and other sites can be viewed
by pro-lifers,too. You want to keep your enemies close.
Groups like PP Action hate it when you know what they
are doing. Some of these sites tell the pro- aborts
to get on a site such as this, and cause discord & division. Please don't let them do it. Stick to our pro-
life activity and questions, and ignore those want to
disrupt. Don't let PP win on any level- including blogs.
If Student were truly interested, her questions were
answered. NFP is a beautiful, intimate, safe way of deciding when you want to have children. Plus it teaches
you a deeper love and respect for your spouse. And you
wait during the time one can become pregnant- it IS possible. Student, the divorce rate for married partners
using traditional b.c. is 50%. With NFP, I believe it is
under 5%. Worth investigating for a lot of reasons, isn't it?
How about getting back to the subject? PLAL has some
wonderful tools, such as "No Greater Joy"-which I would
recommend to anyone who can not attend the seminar. Well
worth the money!
Ann- God Bless You for holding these seminars!

Paula,
Thanks for getting things back on track. As to Marie's initial question, I'm not sure if we'll be able to do video for this entire seminar, but I'm sure some folks will get some of it and I wouldn't be surprised if that made its way to youtube. Even if you can't attend, we could probably send you all the seminar materials for the registration price, including the copy of "Closed" by Joe Scheidler and the PLAL's DVD "Action Speaks Louder Than Words". Those two alone would cost you $29 at regular price.
Hope that helps!
Matt

Thanks, Paula, for getting everyone back on track here. And thanks for the education about the pro-abort's (aka "Student") tactics of disruption and division. After all, that is the essence of what abortion and contraception do - they break apart and destroy the entire family, and make a mother the enemy of the child in her womb. Killing, death and alienation - that is what the pro-aborts represent.

I wish so much that I could go. Someday, when my children are older…Everyone there will be in my thoughts and in my prayers on that day.
January 12th, 2008 at 9:59 am
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. Psalm 36:7 That day we will see each of those little ones. Until then, WE STAND FOR LIFE!

Hey, it was a great seminar. Thank you to everyone who worked to bring this about.
God Bless,
Roger
