The spirit of Christmas comes to DuPage abortion clinics

Posted by Matt Yonke on Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Claire Weisner and Liza Scheidler sing at the Access Health Center in Downers Grove.Saturday, December 20th, local pro-lifers held the second annual "Empty Manger" Christmas caroling day at four abortion facilities across DuPage County.

The first facility was the ACU Health Center in Hinsdale. Though the morning air was quite chilly, 20 faithful pro-lifers gathered to share the message of the birth of Jesus with the facility's patients. Traffic was brisk and several women entering the center most certainly heard the tidings of hope and joy. [Continue reading . . . »]

Annual "Empty Manger" Caroling Day – Sat., Dec. 20

Posted by Matt Yonke on Monday, December 8th, 2008

Carolers outside of the ACU abortion facility in Hinsdale, 2007The Pro-Life Action League and Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood will hold their sixth annual "Empty Manger" Christmas Caroling Day on Saturday, December 20.

This will be the second year in which two caroling tours will take place, one visiting four Chicago abortion facilities and one visiting four in DuPage County.

Particularly during the season of Advent, as we prepare our hearts for Jesus' birth, we celebrate the life of the unborn baby Jesus. Hope and life were bursting into the world through Our Lord even before He was born. It is that message of hope and life we seek to bring to abortion-bound moms as we sing of the birth of Jesus outside the abortion facilities. [Continue reading . . . »]

New video exposes Planned Parenthood's ongoing child abuse cover-ups

Posted by Matt Yonke on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Screenshot from Live Action Video's new film Live Action Video has brought us the latest in the shockingly consistent trend of videos exposing Planned Parenthood employees explicitly covering up cases of child abuse.

Check out the video here.

In this situation the employee of Planned Parenthood of Indiana (the same good people bringing you the abortion gift card this Christmas) were told that a 13 year old girl had become pregnant by her 31 year old boyfriend. [Continue reading . . . »]

Monthly protests enter second year

Posted by Matt Yonke on Monday, November 17th, 2008

Pro-lifers picket Planned Parenthood Aurora [Photo by Dan Wurtz]Last Saturday saw Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood's thirteenth monthly protest at Planned Parenthood Aurora. Despite chilly windy weather, over 100 pro-lifers came out to let Planned Parenthood know that their presence in Aurora was not welcome.

Planned Parenthood Illinois CEO Steve Trombley predicted when Planned Parenthood opened in October of 2007 that the protesters opposing them would dissipate once they gained a victory in opening. What Trombley didn't understand is that, for pro-lifers, stopping Planned Parenthood from opening was only a battle, not the whole war. [Continue reading . . . »]

Why activism?

Posted by Matt Yonke on Friday, November 7th, 2008

Activism is more important than ever in our new political climate. Local prayer warrior Linda Dudley recently shared with us her reflections on her experience as an activist and I thought I'd share them with you:

Pro-lifers march and pray at the 2nd annual Jericho MarchLast night Walter and I were at the Planned Parenthood Clinic from midnight to 1:30 am. Other First Pres sisters and brothers followed hour by hour, as, together, we filled “our” day in the 40 Day Vigil. The night was quiet, warm, and dark enough for us to enjoy the quarter moon in the sky. Candles were lit along the sidewalk, flickering as the stars were doing above.

The night time hour might lead you to believe we were alone, as most everyone we know would have been home, fast asleep. But a number of cars and trucks drove past softly; a young couple, holding hands and laughing headed along the road toward Walgreen’s; at 1:00 a young person walked his dog. Most paid little attention to the small group of “Radicals” or “Extremists” standing along the sidewalk in the middle of the night. It was peaceful, silent, and profound. [Continue reading . . . »]

40 Days for Life closes with song

Posted by Matt Yonke on Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Pro-Lifers sing outside Planned Parenthood AuroraSunday, November 2, was the final day of our "40 Days for Life" prayer vigil and it ended in grand fashion. My heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone who participated in the 40 Days for Life campaign, from those who prayed for one hour to those who gave huge chunks of their time to make this vigil a success.

The closing ceremony was a "Do-It-Yourself Pro-Life Concert". Pro-lifers gathered in the vacant lot across the street from Planned Parenthood bringing musical instruments and their favorite hymns to thank God for His kindness to us over the course of the vigil and the last year of battling Planned Parenthood in Aurora. Jericho Marchers' prayers answered—baby saved Saturday

Posted by Eric Scheidler on Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Jericho March 2008One of the most successful events to take place during the dynamic early months of our fight against Planned Parenthood was the Jericho March, held in mid-September 2007. As part of the concluding weekend of our 40 Days for Life Campaign this year, we decided to repeat this popular event.

This year's Jericho March was held this past Saturday, November 1, "All Saints Day" in many Christian traditions. Some 120 pro-life marchers circled Planned Parenthood's block in seven "battalions", echoing the seven circuits of Jericho by the armies of Joshua.

Why PP Series: #6: Sanger and PP racism–Past and Present

Posted by Corrina Gura on Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Margaret Sanger in 1957In this final segment of my “Why PP Series,” I’d like to address Planned Parenthood’s racist roots and its current racist business practices.

Margaret Sanger was one of the earliest advocates for access to birth control, abortion, and involuntary sterilization in the United States. She explained that these “rights” were necessary to create “a race of thoroughbreds.” She specifically placed her clinics in minority neighborhoods and, according to BlackGenocide.org she “created the Negro Project [which was] designed to sterilize unknowing black women and others she deemed as undesirables of society” because, Sanger said, “colored people are like human weeds and are to be exterminated."

Her support of birth control was meant to decrease the fertility of the unfit; she wrote in her Birth Control Review that "the campaign for Birth Control is not merely of eugenic value, but is practically identical in ideal with the final alms of Eugenics." [Continue reading . . . »]

Why PP Series: #5: PP Plays Dirty

Posted by Corrina Gura on Thursday, October 30th, 2008

BREAKING NEWS from Students For Life of America!!! Jill Stanek has posted to her blog SFLA's most recent PP expose! A counselor at Freehold Planned Parenthood in New Jersey counseled a woman about her abortion–admitting that sometimes during an abortion the baby is born alive, but it doesn't survive long!!! This directly violates the Born Alive Infants Protection Act!

Planned Parenthood logo covered with mudIn this segment of my “Why Planned Parenthood” Series, I’d like to broaden the scope to look at the various other bad behavior and crimes PP has been accused of.

Planned Parenthood thinks they don’t have to play by the rules. Their failure to report statutory rapists is certainly one element of this. However, they also don't feel they have to follow the same rules other organizations that receive taxpayer funding do. [Continue reading . . . »]

Why PP Series: #4: PP's focus is abortion, not healthcare

Posted by Corrina Gura on Monday, October 27th, 2008

Healthcare not in focusAccording to Planned Parenthood's 2006-2007 Annual Report, only 3% of their services are abortion. But let's look at the numbers.

Each year PP sees 3,051,144 "unduplicated clients;" this number divided by the number of abortions (264,943) means 8.6% of their clients have an abortion. Why do you suppose that PP plays with the numbers to make it look like abortion is a smaller part of their business than it is? (It’s a rhetorical question.) [Continue reading . . . »]
