Planned Parenthood requires a shrubbery!
Posted by Matt Yonke, October 29th, 2007

Greetings fellow pro-lifers! My name is Matt Yonke and I just came on as Eric's assistant last week. I'm honored to be of service to the crucial fight against abortion.
One of my first assignments was to head over to PP and snap some pictures of the newly erected wall of shrubbery [WAV] going up along the sidewalk where we've been praying. As you can see in the picture, this row of six foot evergreens puts yet another layer of 'fencing' between us and the facility.
This is proof positive of the impact our prayers and our presence are having. PP isn't going to let one abortion dollar slip through their fingers and they know the effect our band of prayer warriors has on their potential victims. They don't want those women to hear or see anything that might deter them from going through with their decision to abort and they know that people peacefully praying for them as they come to the facility can do just that.
What they don't realize is that obstructing our line of sight will in no way hinder our zeal or the effectiveness of our prayers.
Memorial Crosses Taken Down
At Saturday's 'We're Here for Life' rally, over one hundred memorial crosses were placed in the ground along New York St., each with the name of a baby lost to abortion. These crosses were a beautiful reminder that the lives of these babies are not forgotten.
Some time over the weekend, someone with a chip on their shoulder and a complete lack of respect for the dead uprooted all the memorial crosses and threw them on the ground.
The desecration of this memorial is an outrageous act and displays the disregard pro-aborts have for the memory of those innocent babies. But, like Abel, their blood cries out from the ground, and we will not let them be forgotten. Our faithful prayer warrior Bruce set them all back in place this morning. May their memory be eternal.
Hi Matthew!
Congratulations to you on this most important position! I guess you're our new "Aaron" since I affectionately call Eric our "New Testament Moses"- leading the people in the Aurora and the Fox Valley area into the deep waters of meaningful pro-life activism!
Thank you for the GREAT post! The pictures speak volumes! We are indeed having an impact in the hearts and minds of many- by the fruit of our prayers and HIS Abundant Grace!! God Bless Bruce for re-staking the memorial Crosses for the unborn.
Many Blessings to you all-
Jane

Those trees will make GREAT sign holders!!!!

Those bushes will make a great wind break. Thanks PP!

Wow - the prayers on the employee side of the building are having an affect. If I remember correctly the landscaping is apart of the aproval process for occupancy since it buts up to a residential area. I recall Alderman Elmore asking Gemini about the landscaping and making sure it would look nice. No doubt this massive deviation is violating the agreement for occupancy in some way. More amunition for the Zoning violation argument. Property values in this area are going to fall somemore due to this ugly business getting uglier in the neighborhood.

Maybe if they just keep obscuring the view, eventually no one will be able to find them at all.
Realistically, those trees will probably die because it's pretty late in the season to be planting trees of that size. And won't all those dead tress be a lovely testament to PP?

Jay,
I didn't think about the wind thing..you're so right! This is going to be great!!! The trees can even catch the snow, since it usually comes in from the west! What a great idea, PP…thank you so much for showing you care! What comes around, goes around…see…we care and pray for your clients, now you're returning the favor.

I think this is real interesting. Planned Parenthood has placed its customers above the safety of its staff. If I were an employee of any place which bordered the property with sight-blocking trees I would be worried. See when the parking lot is lit at night who knows what may be lurking behind those trees — people can see you, but you cannot see them. So how much protection will their security cameras really offer them? This really shows how desperate they have become — and how peaceful we are in all of this.
Perhaps someone should let them know that prayers will go through their wall of trees!
What’s next, a brick wall?

Jay,
Bruce and I were out there today watching PP plant the evergreen wall, and it is a great wind breaker.
They were also putting in MORE survalliance cameras (like there isn't enough already). It is interesting that they are planted less then 6 feet from the sidewalk. I think that there is an easement issue.
I find it funny that they are afraid of prayer. We know the power of prayer. And whether they want to admit it or not, so do they. I think the rally on Saturday really got to them. People stopped and said they thought that this was completely ridiculous. But as I see it the more "walls" they build to surround themselves, the more likely they are to implode.
Come out and pray even if you only have 10 minutes to spare. God is working here, and their irrational behavior proves it.

Matt, Welcome, and thanks for the pictures of the trees. How true it is, those trees will make a nice windbreaker, and snow shield for the winter.
No matter how many trees or how a wall is place there, they will still know that we are out there praying. Prayers have no barriers, off course they would not know that. Maybe, the next thing will be a dome covering the whole property, that would be interesting. Does anyone know how long that ridiculous green fencing will be there, between the trees and the green fencing, it really looks stupid.

Maybe they're not worried about your prayers, maybe they just don't want their patients being harassed. Just a thought. I really doubt your prayers are doing anything. They sure didn't keep the place from opening up.

Jason,
You can't even see the patients from the sidewalk.
The sidewalk faces the employee parking lot. I think our praying is bothering the consciences of the employees.

Jason,
God doesn't work on our time schedule. If you are looking at what is happening all over the country - even Cecile Richards (Pres. Planned Parenthood Federation of America) admits that they haven't see this kind of grassroots pro-life movement for decades. God is working by more and more people getting involoved in the pro-life movement. People who have never been active are saying that God has moved them into action. To take time to stand and pray in front of PP is propbably not the number one thing on people's agenda, YET, they come. And those I have talked to have said this is their first time getting involved, and they feel compeled to come. We must stand and be the voice for those who have none. Unborn children are the most vunerable in our society. I will wait on the Lord, for it is in His timing that all will be made right. All God asks us to do is stand in the gap until then. And that's what I am many many others have decided to do.
TREES OR NO TREES - WE WILL NOT LEAVE!! We will be out there everyday as a witness.
Just bc PP opened doesn't mean that is will stay open. With all the lawsuits against them right now, they really don't know what hit them.
You obviously haven't seen PP in Aurora, bc as Renee stated they put up two rows of trees to block the staff parking lot. It is prayer that they are afraid of, bc we are praying for those who work there as well as for the girls and their unborn babies.

Welcome aboard, Matt!
Nice trees…does this mean we'll get our usual midnight showers/ sprinkling again?
I noticed a lot of their smaller Evergreens are actually turning brown…maybe their soil is also no longer "fertile"?
It's the power of prayer at work folks…Trees or no trees!

Thanks to Bruce for putting the crosses back up! Our crosses will be able to stand tall once again.

Well since Planned Parenthood decided to put up shrubbery to right next to the sidewalk, I might just decide to water their shrubbery with Holy Water!

I wonder if PP will decorate their shrubbery at Christmas time with lights? Each of the lights on a Christmas Tree represents LIFE! Not many people know this.
Since PP is Anti-LIFE is guess the short answer is "no".

I learned something today while I was at PP, the trees that were planted there are called arborvitae which means in Latin the "tree of life". It is commonly called American Arborvitae. I think it is great that PP fenced itself in with "trees of life". Boy did I get a great laugh. God is so good.

What I and others noticed the most while vigilling recently is that all the original shrubs on the east side of the abortion clinic were dying. Even the earth is poison! Death inside and outside!
October 30th, 2007 at 10:03 pm
If we are such a threat then why are the trees being put in? Won't the trees obstruct the view of us (you know the scary anti-choice people) praying? Makes no difference to me. I can pray in front of trees, a wall, from my home…

I heard the mayor is going to surround the entrance to city hall with trees to try to confuse us, and keep us away. lol

So Planned Parenthood has no right to erect shrubs on their property? They have no right to protect the privacy of their patients? Most of whom have bussiness other then abortion.

Tommy, whatever your views in Planned Parenthood are (as it appears that they are based off the deception fed to you), it is obvious that they planted this shrubbery not to protect any of their patients (since the patients never actually see that side of the building anyways, as they enter through the other side) but to try to deter us from still gathering there and excercise our rights to gather, protest, and pray outside the clinic.
