Greg -

I'm sorry there was another Greg that posted before. So please accept my apologies. He wasn't very nice.

I totally agree that parents should educate their children. I've had to and my children are young. I don't like those pictures either. I have struggled with those who use those pictures, but I have had a person tell me that those pictures have changed their mind. This person said I had no idea that an fetus looks like a baby. Abortion is ugly and those babies are tortured and killed without any compassion.

When I am out there I spend my time praying. Even though they are open doesn't mean that we should not be witnesses. You can't change things if you just go on ingnoring the elephant in the room. I to believe that we must also fight in the courts, but having the opportunity last week of having a girl walk over from PP to talk was worth being out there for the last 4 months. Had we not been there then she might have thought that what PP had to offer was her only choice. That's why I go there. Even if we helped one here, one there, we are changing hearts.

Have you thought about talking to the man who holds the signs? I'm sure he wouldn't mind talking to you.

Tara,
The post I left yesterday was the first one I have left, so you may have me confused with another Greg that left a post on this site. I am not complaining about the prayer vigils, in all honesty I agree with all of you there. I don't want the clininc there either. What I'm addressing is the vulgar signs that I've seen there on a continual basis. I have seen two different ones and I see them all the time. I don't think any of us should have to look at a large poster of an aborted fetus when we are driving to our homes. The man that I often see holding it goes so far as to hold it out and point it at cars driving by, just incase we didn't notice the 4 foot tall, mostly red poster. This is a family community and there are a number of residents with children here. Why should the children be exposed to this at such a young age and why should the parents be forced to answer the questions this instills in their children's minds? Don't you think that this is something parents should have the right to educate their children at an age they feel is appropriate. The signs are very graphic and the point can be made without them.

My point of the protesting not accomplishing anything is true. The clinic is there and conducting their business as usual. The only way to stop this is through the courts. The protesters have been there for two months now and not stopping PP....that is my point.

John,

You can google Calvin Institutes, but I bet you can find them at the book store. I know you can find them at Christian bookstores. The Library might have is as well.

Where/why has religion failed in educating our youth?

My church does. We actively talk about sexual intimacy to both junior/sr highers. What is healthy and what's not. Parents are involved.

You see, for Christians God set sex to be expressed in marriage between a man and woman from the beginning. It was God's idea not man's.

In Genesis 2:24-25 says a man shall leave his father and mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. I don't think sex is evil or wrong. I see it as something extremely beautiful that is intended not only for pleasure but to create life. But within the boundaries of marraige. This is what I tell my children.

Marraige and family is the very foundation of society. It is the glue. Jesus quoted Genesis 2:24-25 in Matthew 19:5, Paul reiterates it in 1 Corinthians 6:16 and Ephesians 5:31. When you have sex with multiple partners you bring them into your marriage and it causes jealousy and mistrust. This to many is seen as hateful and intolerent, but it is not meant to be. Which is why I think some don't teach it.

There are other churches that just don't believe that sex outside of marriage is wrong. This goes completely counter to Scripture. I hope that answers some of your questions.

I have read the Institutes. If you decide to let me know.

PP education seems to be free/gov't funded correct?

Yes, they are funded through Title X. If you google Title X, you can go to US Dept of Health & Human Servies.

There is a push to have that money taken away from PP until all these investigations into malpractice, not reporting sexual abuse, doing illegal abortions are resolved. That would be in the tune of $300 million. If they lost this money it would severely hurt them, bc they don't get enough money from private donations to make up for that kind of financial loss.

Hope this helps.

Tara,

I realize this response is under the wrong blog but for some odd reason it was not posting there so sorry for any confusion.

I appreciate the conversation as well. Should I just google the Calvin Institutes I would enjoy/appreciate the knowledge.

As far as your research in which I forgot to comment on...

"Then I looked at income, racial make-up in the community, and if the PP does abortions. Eye opening. PP does abortions in communities where the median imcome is less then 50K (excluding univiersity towns). And they had significant or majority minority populations"

To me the easy part about this fact is that the minority populations and lower income families unfortunately conincide w/ one another. So PP being located where they are, near the financially challenged or the young (as sad as it sounds) is a correct business strategy for them.

Here are my questions to this;

Where/why has religion failed in educating our youth?

PP education seems to be free/gov't funded correct?

How did this come about?

Greg,

We do have lives, and we want every unborn child to have the same. Most of the time it is just people praying. Tell me what is so scary to children to see people stand up for what they believe in and pray in public?

I haven't seen you post in awhile, bc the poster you are referring to hasn't been out. But it was today, so here you are complaining again.

We are not going anywhere. We will be out there until PP is gone.

As a resident of Oakhurst I do agree that we were deceived by the construction permits being pulled under a false name. At the same time I am tired of having to stare at a 4 foot tall poster of a bloody fetus every time I come home. I speak for a number of neighbors on this point, especially the ones that drive by there with children in their car. The daily protesting has proved to be a nuisance and not an effective way to stop anything. Get a life you people.

Sorry I missed putting God in there.
Ernestine,
May God continue to bless you and keep you in your repentance and in His forgiveness. This I ask in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
