Looks Like We're Not Going Away
Posted by Roger, October 27th, 2007
Today's "Here for Life" Rally had a huge turnout, despite the cold, overcast weather and threats of rain. People gathered from all walks of life to support the gift of life outside the largest abortion mill in the U.S. What a dichotomy. On one hand, you have a group of people offering FREE help and a real "choice" to women in need, and on the other, you have the "quick and easy", unhappy, unhealthy non-solution for $ALE at PP.
Many people began the day by taking a prayer walk around the block, from Oakhurst, to McCoy, to Eola and then to New York. We must keep prayer as our basis. It's the foundation of what we do - our source of strength for our other activities.
On New York Street, our picket began and quickly filled in from Eola Road all the way to Oakhurst Drive. Many people driving by showed support honking or waving.
Gifts for the baby shower overflowed the "pack-n-plays" that were setup to collect donations. Today's baby shower hauled in even more diapers, clothes, and other goodies than our first baby shower.
It's a little funny. Even kids know that the PP mill is not a good place to be. One of them wrote "God has come - get out!!", with a person running away. Perhaps an expectant mother going to the facility will heed the wisdom of the children.
A number of people chose to memorialize a loved one killed by abortion. Even though the parkway filled with crosses, it does not come close to the number of abortions that this particular PP will do if it remains open.
Bryan Kemper, President of Stand True – Christ Centered Pro-life at www.standtrue.com, came and spoke to the crowd. He spoke of the horror of abortion that he had witnessed first-hand, and implored us to keep up the fight for life. Thank you Brian for your stance for Life and for your generosity.
On hand for our protection were Aurora's finest. At one point, they even closed off part of Oakhurst Drive to help us to get closer to hear the speaker.
Thank you to everyone who came out today. Your active support is greatly appreciated. May God bless you abundantly. And thank you to all the women who chose not to go to PP today. May God give you guidance and strength.

Thanks to Eric and all who helped plan and execute this succesful event. If you go to http://wgntv.trb.com/ and click on the file tab WGN NEWS you can watch the only TV coverage we got. They estimated 500. I know that this weekend was a light of the world weekend that many prolifers attended and therefore were not able to attend. I am sure next time we will not fit on one side of Oakhurst.
Thanks again,
Dan

Wow - A great rally - great job Eric and staff. The Beacon News Paper provided no coverage at all - NOTHING in the big Sunday paper. I have cancelled by subscription and encourage others to as well. Looks like Mayor Weisner now owns the town newspaper as well. I now have to get the Chicago paper to find out whats happening in Aurora.

Dennis,
Better yet, you can find all of the wonderful Aurora happenings at http://www.openlineblog.com

Thanks so much for the openline.blogspot.com info. I just canceled th Beacon News on Friday. I thought, why am I paying for a paper they can't even deliver. I don't have a clue how they write such hogwash. This site is much more insightful. Thanks!

Thank you Eric, your family and staff, for the wonderful, peaceful rally. Our God is with us…..who can stand against us. We are making a difference and I know next rally will bring in greater numbers. I also want to thank the police officers, Dominicks for their acts of kindness, as well as Blockbuster Videos. I especially love all you people.
October 28th, 2007 at 4:00 pm
I have some relatives that were unable to either attend or to reach me in time to give so that I might transfer their gift to the rally.
Is there a comprehensive list of whom checks may be made out to or cash be dropped off in order to help out the on the several fronts we have going? (The rallies, legal fees donations, pro-life pregnancy centers, etc.)?
October 28th, 2007 at 6:55 pm
Alex,
I suggest donating the money to the Prolife Action League. They are the organization putting up the money for our rallies, yard signs, etc. They are the underwriters for Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood.
You can go here to donate!
At Saturday's rally, we held another Baby Shower, in which we collected a large number of baby items for many of the area pregnancy centers.
God Bless,
Roger

I have had a nice Time in fellowship with Christians that are really concerned for woman's souls Friday night and Saturday in a Ladies Christian Conference. We focused on being Saved and knowing the Lord Jesus Christ. What I am is that you really think that you are doing good for the community by over protesting this building rather speaking to the hurt that will consider Abortions. You need to sit down with these woman that aborts babies or going to or about to abort one of thiers. I have forgot about you for a few weeks now but I wanted to see what's still going on.
I understand your concerned over this manner however, Can't you be Christians enough to talk to the souls that are actually out of thw womb? Why don't you try to educate youngsters and also Married people of having wanted children and not force hatred on those that aborts babies?
Don't you know what Salvation through Grace and Faith means? What your doing is getting way out of hand.
October 28th, 2007 at 10:57 pm
Check out this article from yesterday's Tribune on a Wiccan school in Rossville. Note the community's response. Eerie similarities to what's going on in Aurora, eh? Hmmmm…..
October 29th, 2007 at 1:10 am
Hello enough already,
We do take every opportunity to speak to these women but that by itself is not enough. These PP people don't just want the souls of the women who abort. They would pervert our children, teaching them that teaching them abortion is jsut a choice and actually perform abortions on them w/o ever even notifying us. We will not stop till PP is seen for the child molester protecting, baby killing, lying scourge that they are. It makes me sick that my tax dollars suport them as a not-for-profit when they are so obviously evil in their ways.
As Christians we would rather our children did not have to face these types of dangers and we could just hide it from them. But with predators like PP around we must educate people about the ways they would steal our children by teaching them they do not need to notify their parents about such a serious life issue. The survival of PP depends on these types of decitful practices while the children are still impressionable.
So we protest to shed light on who they really are. They talk about services and act like friends but their deceitful, murderous ways go before them. Yes I said murderous. They are known as the leaders in delivering babies to their chest then rolling a scissors up their spine till they feel the skull. Then while grabbing the babies head firmly with the other hand they punctiure the skupp with the scissors. At this pointt the baby violently throws out its arms and legs and gets stiff while they open the scissors wide and pull it out of the skull. Then they stick a vaccum in and suck the babies brains out.
This is who they are. They are not friends of the community and we need to make every effort to shed light on who they really are before they spread their scourge on more unaware communities.
I do not have a PP facility in my community and we don't need one. But I am putting out signs on my lawn
anyway so that when they do try to move into our town, people will already be educated about the decitful, evil ways of PP.
May God bless you with His Holy Spirit in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

EnoughAlready22:
Thanks for your remarks. While I can agree with you that there are many things people can do to help a community, please understand that many of us hold human life in the highest regard; that if life (and the soul of that life) is not worth fighting for, then tell me, what is? Let me ask you, which soul is more precious -– or worthwhile, the mother or the her baby?
While I applaud your concerns for woman’s souls at the conference, those of us here are working hard to ensure that their are future souls – to be saved.
Also please keep in mind that another part of this week’s rally was to raise awareness. As an Aurora resident, I am still surprised by the number of people in our community that still do not understand what Planned Parenthood is – or what it does.

Paul2 says,
"The survival of PP depends on these types of decitful practices while the children are still impressionable."
If you have already discussed the issue of abortion w/ your child then what do you have to fear about PP and their propaganda?
If you have an open line of communication between you a and your child then what does it matter if parental consent is needed?
Preemptive discussions between parents and their children should solve any of these issues. Let PP spread their propaganda…
how does this propaganda hurt you if you know the truth?
October 29th, 2007 at 9:18 am
Great turnout in spite of the cold weather…and the sun managed to come out and dispel the gloom…
I heard a couple of kids ask "Did you see any of the PP supporters around?" and the answer was.."No, I didn't see any"…
We are committed to our cause..Let's keep it up, folks! In rain, sleet or snow…
Just remember to bundle up! God Bless everyone!

EnoughAlready22 -> While I'm happy that you "had a nice Time in fellowship with Christians that are really concerned for woman's souls", I believe that God calls us not only to prayer, but to action. That is why we were out there on Saturday morning. To be a visible witness to life. It wasn't about having a "nice time".
"What your doing is getting way out of hand." What do you suggest we do? What have you done that has been helpful? Thanks.
John said -> "If you have an open line of communication between you a and your child then what does it matter if parental consent is needed?"
Well, John. It's not always about an "open line of communication". It is about protecting children, both from themselves, and from others.
And just because I have an "open line of communication" of communication with my child does not mean that every parent has that open a line. Nor does it mean that predators and unscrupulous individuals and organizations will not take advantage of my child.
We need to use common sense. If I have an "open line of communication" with my child, why do we need curfew laws? Or why can't schools give asprin to my child?
Come on already!
October 29th, 2007 at 9:41 am
Roger…
I would like to preface my comments by stating I only ask questions to spur discussion and to gain others' viewpoints. So please keep the attacks and the negative energy to a minimum. I fully understand that these are sensitive topics discussed here and there is no need or room to make assumptions just because I've asked a few difficult questions…
Roger says,
"We need to use common sense. If I have an "open line of communication" with my child, why do we need curfew laws? Or why can't schools give asprin to my child?
Come on already!"
Teachers can't give aspirin to children because of possible medical interactions and because of privacy of individual's medical records. Nurses at schools can give medicine w/ doctors Rx.
As far as a curfew laws go, I'm not sure how that correlates to having an open dialog w/ your children.
This free and open communication between a parent and their child should be a parent's best defense to combat any propaganda their child may or may not be receiving from PP or any other source.
"It is about protecting children, both from themselves, and from others."
This is called being a "helicopter" parent.
I have faith that people innately understand good from bad. (adults and young adults alike) This is God inside all of us.
Younger people just need some slight guidance here and there and this open line of communication w/ your child is integral for this proper guidance to take place.
Do you need the law/government to help raise your children?
Just a thought…
October 29th, 2007 at 10:29 am
Does anyone know how many people were at this rally? One news report said 500, that seems like a low estimate to me.
October 29th, 2007 at 10:41 am
John,
My "common sense" was more in reference to this comment:
In this, I'm hearing you argue FOR allowing PP to "spread their propaganda". This is what does not make sense to me.
We raise our families, our children, in our society/culture. I for one want to foster a culture that supports my values. (As does PP) I can talk with my children all the time, but wouldn't it be better if their friends shared in these same values? Wouldn't it be better if these values were reinforced, and not opposed to, by our society? By our schools and laws?
I'm not talking about forcing "religion" on anyone. I'm talking about base moral values.
PP's "propaganda" undermines these basic moral values. They teach that a person does not have the capacity to refrain, for self-mastery. But that one's going to do it anyway. People are too weak, so why not enjoy.
It's a matter of working for the common good of everyone, not just my immediate family. But this also supports my immediate family.
Our society is riddled with STD's and all sorts of problems. A few years back, only 2 STD's were around. Today, there are over 30 STDs. And these STD's are NOT curable. Let me repeat. There are NO cures for many of these STDs.
How has PP's propaganda helped? They've been around for 90 years now. Has condom distribution helped? Has it reduced the number of STD's?
No, as condom distribution increased, so has the number of STDs. Why is that so?
It is so, because they encourage "safe sex". Or nowadays, I think they've re-termed it "safer sex", knowing that there is no truly "safe" sex outside a monogamous relationship.
PP's propaganda does hurt. It hurts my family and I will do what I can to protect my children from it.
God Bless,
Roger

John says, "If you have already discussed the issue of abortion w/ your child then what do you have to fear about PP and their propaganda?"
John, If you have already discussed the issue of child predators and sexual abusers w/ your child, then what do have to fear about them?
October 29th, 2007 at 10:52 am
EnoughAlready22 said , "Don't you know what Salvation through Grace and Faith means? What your doing is getting way out of hand."
Salvation through Grace & Faith, and war on Satan are two totally different things. We are fighting a spritual war here. If you read through your bible, you will find that God sent armies that attacked and destroyed cities. Although we do not advocate violence, we do feel led by God to fight in this peaceful manner, and also educate the neighbors and girls going into the clinic. We are witnesses, and are called as such. If one girl saw us out there & decided not to get an abortion, wouldn't this make it all worth it to you? I know it does to me! We have also had numerous girls come out to the sidewalk to talk & to search for healing. We are able MANY times to share the word of God, tell them about Jesus Christ and how he forgives and heals. Do you still think what we are doing is getting out of hand?
October 29th, 2007 at 11:01 am
Roger says,
"In this, I'm hearing you argue FOR allowing PP to "spread their propaganda". This is what does not make sense to me."
Please make no assumptions..
since you asked (that's sarcasm)
I believe propaganda at any level is an evil thing. I believe propaganda is all around us at all times from every media source possible. Everyone's children will be exposed to all sorts of propaganda at all stages of their lives no matter what.
I also believe that it should be a child's parent or guardian only that discusses sexual education with them. Parent's inabilities to speak with their children on the topic of sex is why you find it in our schools and from places like PP with their hidden agendas.
This is why I come to the conclusion what one the most effective weapons any parent has against anything that they find ethically/morally wrong is communication.
"PP's propaganda does hurt. It hurts my family and I will do what I can to protect my children from it."
And you should protect your family from it. Protect your family. My family needs no protecting.
One last question…how can propaganda hurt?
Education, information and communication is all the neccassary components to combat propaganda.
October 29th, 2007 at 11:08 am
Laura K says,
"John, If you have already discussed the issue of child predators and sexual abusers w/ your child, then what do have to fear about them?"
Sexual abusers and child predators attack people. This is why you or I would fear them.
An abortion cannot attack or kidnap my child, correct?
Maybe I'm missing you point…
October 29th, 2007 at 11:13 am
John,
You can tell your kids about child predators 'till your blue in the face. However, you need to stay proactive on the issue, to keep your child safe. Same thing with the way PP preys on our children starting VERY young in the Jr. High schools. Plus, how many kids, no matter how many times you talk to them, still are swayed by their peers. I know that my parents tried to keep me on the straight & narrow, but once my peers pressured me on certain issues, I caved right in!
October 29th, 2007 at 11:36 am
John,
If I was only concerned about my children being influenced by PP's lies and propaganda, I would stay home and enjoy my Saturdays. BUT, my children are growing up in a culture, the friends they have, their future spouses, their classmates, their team mates, are all influenced by the culture around them. Most of the neighbors I have spoken to did not know how much tax money supports PP, how many abortions they do, and what sort of information they want the children to have about sex. My neighbor checked out teenwire.com and was horrified that such disrespect for sex was taught as good. People deserve to know the truth about what PP actually does, what they teach, how they are financed, and how much money they make off of the tragedy of abortion. They need to know it in Aurora especially now that the largest clinic just set up shop in their town.
We are not doing this just to protect OUR children, we are trying to inform our culture about the other side of the story they will not hear unless we get the message out.
What I don't understand is why what we are doing bothers you so much. We are trying to get a conversation started in the public square, and that seems to be your reason for being at this web site. I think we are trying to achieve the same thing ~ accurate information and honest discussion. Have you noticed that the PP blog won't let any of that happen? They are afraid of honest discussion and accurate information.
October 29th, 2007 at 11:38 am
Laura K says,
"You can tell your kids about child predators 'till your blue in the face. However, you need to stay proactive on the issue, to keep your child safe."
So in essence we are saying the same thing. A huge part of staying proactive with your child is communication.
Erin says,
"What I don't understand is why what we are doing bothers you so much."
It doesn't bother me one bit. I'm not sure where that came from.
"Most of the neighbors I have spoken to did not know how much tax money supports PP, how many abortions they do, and what sort of information they want the children to have about sex."
Neither did I and this is one reason why I come back to this forum to have open disscusion. I also greatly appreciate the information and the disscusions I have here.
"People deserve to know the truth about what PP actually does, what they teach, how they are financed, and how much money they make off of the tragedy of abortion."
I agree with this as well…people always deserve the truth but rarely receive it.
"Have you noticed that the PP blog won't let any of that happen? They are afraid of honest discussion and accurate information."
I have not been to their website and I am not surprised that they do not allow for open disscusion.
In the scheme of propaganda and its influence on our youth…Which form of media do you feel has the greatest impact on influencing American children?
MTV, E News, PP, Sex Ed in public schools, Radio…ect…
October 29th, 2007 at 12:04 pm
Sorry about that Erin…I meant to address the 2nd half of my post to Renee.
October 29th, 2007 at 12:09 pm
John,
I am sorry if I misinterpreted this: "Let PP spread their propaganda", as you being bothered by what we are doing. Nuances do get lost in blog conversations. Again, sorry.

Well Done to All for the Rally. You can be encouraged because others are with you in this fight to close that abortion mill. I have added a link of a successful pro-life rally held in Dublin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou0XLO_Aylw Ireland hasn't legal abortion. Brian Kemper spoke in Dublin in 2006 and what struck him most was that he was standing in a country that was abortion free. Keep the fight going to make abortion a thing of the past. People are waking up to the lies of Planned Parenthood and are discovering that abortion is murder and wounds society. Hopefully the next rally there has double the crowd as citizens cannot be silent in defending the life of the pre-born.

I would have added a cross for my baby nephew that died in May of this year from an abortion… I miss that little baby as his due date just passed on the 27th of this month.. God revealed to me it was "CRIME SCENE TAPE"!!! how cool would that be, abortion is a crime scene and the tape reads "crime scene do not enter" haha planned parenthood, God can close you down with a $8 roll of tape!… anyway when this comes to pass PLEASE send me a picture of you all doing it! have kids stand twenty to thirty feet apart with this tape, which you can buy in 1000 ft rolls streching all the way around this facility! Awesome statement and a God given vision!… thanks and visit http://www.911babies.com

Defend us in the battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray.
And thou O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits
who would roam through this world seeking the destruction of souls.

Oh well, "Amen" to #34 then.

You St Michael isn't going to help through this Crisis about Abortion and Planned Parenthood. Why don't you go to God in Prayer instead of Saints?
October 31st, 2007 at 9:58 pm
Kay,
God has graced His angels and saints with the ability to touch one other with His healing power. The reason I call upon St Michael in particular is cause he is an archangel on the throne of God and he has a proven track record of success when battling the Devil over earthly possesions.
October 31st, 2007 at 11:32 pm
Why Michael archangel and not Jesus? Jesus beats power over the Devil.
November 1st, 2007 at 12:13 am
Kay,
Yes call upon Jesus. WHen I ask God to send his holy angels down to bless and protect me, I ask in Jesus' name.
November 1st, 2007 at 8:25 am
O my Jesus, you who once said, ask anything of the Father in my name and He will give it to you. Behold, in your name Jesus, I ask the Father for the grace of His Holy Spirit to come down upon His children here on earth. And give us the strength to persevere through lifes trials. And that He may send His holy angel down to bless and protect us, to drive Satan and his cancerourous, deceitful, murderous, foul legions of disorder far from us, and to guide us into the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Amen
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

I received a flyer in the mail from this organization this afternoon. I see the aborted fetus pictures wherever I drive, run, walk, or shop.
I am horrified by the comments that have been made both on this discussion blog and the flyer I received, and the accusations that are made towards Planned Parenthood and the way the "facts" were miscontrued. I am a public health worker, a young female, and a fellow pro-lifer, but wow! get the facts and the knowledge straight before sending misconstrued uneducational information to the homes of many.
"Facts" and the REAL FACTS:
**Flyer: "Recommends sexually explicit materials for children as young as nine years old. Provides sex-ed materials to children that are far too graphic to be described here. Strongly opposes proven-effective abstinence education programs. Distributes condoms, birth control pills and abortion drugs to teens…"
**REAL FACTS: Do you know why PP does these above mentioned things? Ladies how old were you when you had your first menstrual cycle? Parents, have you ever seen a nine or ten year old pregnant? Families, have you ever seen the news about a child being raped or sexually abused? Parents have you talked to your child about sex? Parents, how often do your children remember everything you tell them? Parents, have you ever made a decision your parent's wouldn't approve of? Families, have you ever been a victim of peer pressure? Social Pressure? And I know I might strike a bunch of chords with this question….but parents how would you react if your son or daughter told you that they were gay/lesbian? Do you know how to properly educate them on safe sex? Did you know that LGBT teens have the highest rates of suicide, STDs, and cancer? Because your religions, moral, or personal beliefs might not agree with your son or daughters sexual preferences….what then? ignore the situation? persuade them to change? let them fall victim to peer pressure, suicide, STDs. Maybe not pregnancy…but other issues related to sex that PP also plays part in educating and providing options for children that are not accepted or welcome by their families.
Answers: I was nine when I had my first menstrual cycle, old enough to get pregnant, yet not quite old enough to know what sex was or what the consequences of actions were. And if you haven't seen young pregnant children, I HAVE seen multiple pregnant children under the age of eleven. Upon questioning, these children had no idea what the consequences of their actions were or what they were even doing. I see these children in my hospital (I'm a social worker) and help them find medical assistance to treat themselves and their baby, educational opportunities during and after pregnancy, and help them apply for medical cards. If we can't get teenagers to stop having sex, let's at least educate them on safety and give them preventative measures to use instead of ignoring the situation. Let's fight the real battle…stopping these pregnancies before they start….What about EDUCATION and PREVENTION?! Trying to teach children about what sex is, what are the consequences, and what you can do to protect oneself. As a society we can not ignore that sexual relations are increasing and STDs and teen pregnancy rates are rising. What about the media and its protrayals of sex? These "explicit" materials provided by PP are the materials that make a child stop and think about their actions…especially when tv and movies and peers make sex look so good. I remember going to the health museum at ten years old and seeing a picture of a blackened lung from smoking cigarettes, I vowed then that I would never let that happen to me…same goes for sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy. Also, in a society that lacks affordable options for health care, PP provides an affordable option to get contraceptives and condoms, which is beneficial for children that are afraid to talk to their parents about their choices or are afraid to talk to their parents about their sexual preferences, but still need protection. (for me, I work in a Catholic hospital and my insurance doesn't pay for my birth control methods, but Planned Parenthood does so affordably)
Instead of fighting against Planned Parenthood, why don't you fight to reduce unwanted pregnancy, sex education in school aimed at prevention and education? Or fight to get affordable medical treatment for everyone? Through HARM REDUCTION and EDUCATION and PREVENTION Planned Parenthood is starting this fight…….Lets stop the TRUE cause of unwanted pregnancy and abortions!! PP doesn't cause pregancy!what have you personally done to stop unwanted pregnancies? Let's fight the right battle.

Thank you so much for the link to hear Bryan Kemper. I was at the rally, but missed most of his message thanks to our wonderful police who kept shuffling us from one spot to another under "orders from above". I just listened and was moved by his passion for life. We do need to stay strong and fight this battle on our knees until the end of legalized and sanctioned abortion in America.
