Just a quick note of thanks to all the legal minds involved in unraveling this tangle that our Mayor has unleased. Please continue to hold their feet to the fire.

Some of the very interesting questions above should be directed toward the pro-life lawyers interested in this case, those at The Thomas Moore Law Center, for example. A detailed audit of PP / Gemini articles of incorporation, financial relationship, etc. with regard to state, county, and city law may turn up quite a few irregularities. As I recall, nationwide, PP had profits of over 60 million last year. Pretty good for a "not-for-profit".

I think in this case it is a for profit company Gemini corp holding a not-for-profit subsidiary name PP. They probably convinced themselves they are following the letter of the law but with all the deception they practice it would be interesting to shed some light on their accounting practices.

I have an even better legal question: Can a not-for profit Parent Company even hold a for-profit entity? This would seem to contradict the whole purpose of a not-for profit; or perhaps even nullify it. And if that’s the case – bye bye tax incentives and perhaps some grant money.

I am not a tax attorney, but I suspect since Gemini had filed for the permit as a 'for profit' organization, the city might have had some expectation what the taxes would accrue to the city.

Noting that Planned Parenthood is actually a Not-for-Profit organization, does this mean that they will not only avoid paying taxes, but will also live on our generosity as taxpayers in Aurora when it comes to receiving all the extra police protection and infrastructure services?

Wow, Did the mayor think that this was going to fly? Makes you wonder what else the mayors been up to. Me thinks he has some "splaining" to do. Maybe we should start a coup, join forces with the police department and storm City hall Tuesday night. This could be the best City Hall meeting ever.

Another inconsistency in the whole matter is that after going to the city council and receiving their unanimous approval to have the reports reviewed by State's Attorney Barsanti, the mayor then sidesteps the council's input once the reports were released. Why? All of the mayor's actions raise more and more questions. This issue is not going to go away any time soon.
