#25 above is me "paraphrasing".....

Original quote rec'd is:

"You have a duty to be intellectual."

or (I don't remember exactly)

"You have a duty to be an intellectual."

Abortion is against one's neighbor (the pre-born).

Contraception is against one's self (aborting one's reproductive process).

please forgive my "hastiness":

"Contraception kills" should be "Contraception ATTEMPTS to kill"....thru it all, God is in absolute control....BUT we are accountable none the less.

Also, the many times more than 50 million abortions that contraception represents! Abortion kills growth. Contraception kills nature's (God's Preservation) existence of the human race!

Re: John, #20 above.

I don't mean to take sides (I don't) but ought not your statement be some what "pin pointed" re: "more stable" to distinguish between born vs unborn? Referencing to 50 million murders since 1973 (abortion)?

Tara says,

"How many times have we heard from the experts that we are so much more violent then we were 30 years ago."

The experts are wrong...more violent how...lets go back in time for a minute.

1977 - Cold War, NYC Blackout for 25hrs (looting, murders etc...), Vietnam War had ended 6 million dead , AIDS and Crack about to be introduced w/ a higher murder rate throughout the 80s than today

1947 - Cold War beginning, CIA was formed, World War 2 just ended 70 million dead.

1917 - World War 1 20 million dead, Man hunt for Pancho Villa, Cocaine just became illegal one year prior, along w/ heroine and morphine, prohibition 2 yrs later which caused the rise of orginized crime, anyone could bear arms w/out a certificate until 1920.

1865 - US Civil War 620,000 dead

1783 - Revolutionary War 25,000 dead

1500-1890 - 90% of Native American Pop massacred.

I've heard the stat as well that we are more violent in the US now...it is a laughable statistic. Do wars not count as violence? How about mass homocide of an entire culture?

We are much more stable now than the entire short history of the US.

im also pro choice,

Here is something to think about. Before Roe families were stronger and intact, and crime and violence stats were significantly lower. You see when a society has a lack of respect for life, especially for the most vulnerable, then society starts to crumble. We have seen society continue down a dark path. How many times have we heard from the experts that we are so much more violent then we were 30 years ago.

Why should people care about your life or mine when we sanction the killing of unborn children. Do the research, you might surprise yourself at what you find. Violence always begets violence. Want to live in a better society, start by protecting the most vulnerable and lifting up families.

The fight for life is never pointless. And just cause abortion was legalized a few decades ago does not mean it will be forever. Just last year the US Supreme Court passed a law stating people do not have a right to partial birth abortion. Some people may want to deliver babies up to their chest, slide a scissors up their spine till you feel it at the base of the skull, and grab the babies head firmly with the other hand while puncturing the skull with the scissors. At this point the babies jerks violently and goes stiff as the "doctor" opens the scissors wide and pulls it out of the babies skull. Then sticks a vaccuum
inside the womans uterus and sucks out the babies brains while it finally goes limp.

The above procedure was considered legal in the US since Roe V Wade passed a few decades ago, but just cause something was legal for a time does not mean it will be or should be legal forever. And per the US Supreme court vs. Planned Parenthood in 2006, just cause some people may want to kill their babies this way and organizations like PP are willing to kill babies this way does not mean that they should be allowed to act this way or that they have some type of constitutional right to commit infanticide.
