Barack climbs aboard Planned Parenthood's sinking ship

PLAL Obama protest 2/10/07The Chicago Tribune reports that Barack Obama has issued a statement in support of Planned Parenthood in Aurora:

I fully support Planned Parenthood's desire to open a new facility in Aurora. The proposed center will serve the growing population in a part of the state where access to a full range of reproductive health care services is lacking.

This is great news on so many levels. First, the organization I work for, the Pro-Life Action League, was the first to picket candidate Obama—back on February 10, one of the coldest days of the year. We opposed him then, he's opposing us now—kind of returning the favor.

Moreover, it's a sure sign of how effective we've been that a presidential candidate has turned his attention to this controversy. The nation is watching what's happening here at "Ground Zero" of the abortion wars.

Finally, I can't help but chuckle to think of Barack Obama climbing aboard Planned Parenthood's sinking ship here in Aurora. Obama has decided Planned Parenthood is innocent; he says:

I hope the investigation by city officials into the permit process can be concluded as quickly and fairly as possible, so that this important facility can begin its operations.

Obama has no notion that the conclusion of this investigation could be anything other than a green light for Planned Parenthood. Why is he so sure?

The Tribune also informs us that Obama has close ties to Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner, whom he campaigned for in 2005. Did the Mayor's office assure Obama that this would be the result?

Who knows. It sure does look as if the Mayor has staked everything on Planned Parenthood's opening, and soon—and lots of people are saying that if Planned Parentood goes down, Mayor Weisner is going down with them.

But could a local issue like this—even one that has drawn so much national attention—really harm a national candidate like Obama? Apparently Obama thinks it could help him to speak out in support of Planned Parenthood; who knows but that it might not backfire as the whole truth about the Planned Parenthood scheme is exposed?

At this point, nothing would surprise me.

Let us continue to pray that PP will not open and that it will be the beginning of the end for the popular support of this evil organization.

And that it will backfire on Barack Hussein Obama's campaign for president.

No one has any business of being president of the United States of America who believes and supports the killing of innocent children by violence in their mother's wombs.

Fr. Frank Pavone made a comment the other day which stated…

We should only vote for political candidates who serve the people NOT kill the people.

When Obama was in the Illinois Senate he voted against the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act which would make it illegal to kill a born baby outside of the womb. Talk about extreme.

I am glad Obama has made his position official. We knew his wife wrote fund raising letters for PP, but this leaves no doubt, in case anyone had a doubt. I wonder what his supreme court picks would look like.

Well, I agree we need to vote for someone that is against evil thing called abortion. I just can't believe out of my 30 years and 27 years spent in Aurora,IL there is a big Abortion Mill in the area. I really don't want to vote for Obama now. It will be ashame that this will open.

I think we need to find an entity that will take the place of PP in the facility at 3051 E. New York Street to provide services to the women of Aurora (even though the service isn't necessary as PP claims)so that the issue of health care is taken out of the picture. No one is against affordable health care for underprivileged women, especially life threatening care. However, most in Aurora are against killing children, no matter how old.

Ok, so I've thought about it a bit more and have concluded that it would be best if the eye/mind-sore was leveled. Then let's find someone who would build a more esthetically pleasing building in it's place in order to fulfill the so called "need" in our community…the building is tainted for sure.

Does anyone know of the connection between Obama and Weisner? I heard Obama campaigned for him two years ago. But there seems to be something going on here. Obama comes out publicly in support of Aurora PP opening. He supported Weisner. Weisner would just love to open PP tomorrow to get it over with. Ah, but that's where we have been a proverbial 'thorn in his side.'

Don't forget, everyone, call the City Clerk's office to reserve your seat at Tuesday's meeting. The PPers will try to be there en masse as well.

I have a suggestion for the building. First of all, leveling it seems very wasteful. And as I've said before, there's room for compromise (aside from the fact that human life is sacred from conception until natural death–on that there can be no compromise!).

How about using that expensive building for two important functions:

    1. a women's health center where less-affluent and uninsured women can receive exams, psychological counseling, and non-abortifacient birth control;

    2. a low-cost (or free) daycare center. This is extremely important because pro-choicers often say that we only care about the baby until it's born–here's an opportunity to offer care for the children these mothers have chosen to give life to, as the mothers finish their education or find employment. The center could be staffed by volunteers–I know I'd be willing to help!

Annie–I like your suggestion, even though I wouldn't mind seeing it (attention all distorters of what we say here) LEGALLY leveled. I'll gladly pay 100 bucks to be donated to a local PIC for 5 minutes in the driver's seat of the bulldozer, but there could nevertheless be some good uses for the building. Kind of like taking the temple of death and Christianizing it and turning it to Godly purposes.

Annie, you have the right IDEA!!!

We need numbers on Tuesday. Outside as well as in.

We also need to work on our chants for pro life.
Has anyone put a call out to Aurora Christian???
I spoke with a parent at with children in the grade school and from what he told me they have no idea how to help, but want to.

As for Ubama, (The press has got on board with changing Osama to Usama so there won't be association to Obama) he looks and sounds like an intellectal heavyweight, but once you put him on the scale…Not heavyweight. He is a mashmouth of voabulary and pontificating, sounding important, smart and considerate. When it comes to core values and principals, talk to his mentor Dick Durbin or his campaign manager. Like a magnificant hot air ballon with OPRAH written on the side, Ubama gets blown around by allegences, media and polls and is as hollow!

Obama backing PP. What a disappointment. I am looking for a pro-life Democratic presidential candidate. Is there such a thing?

I’ve got an Amazon gift certificate burning holes in my pocket,
and I want to get the most bang for my buck.

Enter the Secret Amazon Web Pages:

This is where you’re going to find the "latest sales, rebates, and limited-time offers" from
Amazon, and you can score some pretty deep discounts if you’re a savvy shopper.

Next, there’s the special Sale link. This is open every Friday, and ONLY on Fridays.

You can find the same good discounts here as you would in hidden Deals, although some
Fridays you can really get lucky and make off like an Amazon bandit – I’ve seen discounts
there as low as 75% off sticker price.

When we say God Bless America
I don't believe it means give her every material thing on earth, but to make her holy in the eyes of God once again. People like Obama and the Clintons have no respect for life in any stage—They are instruments of Satan trying to destroy America from within. I always felt that Bill Clinton was a traitor to his country and Hillary is no better in her efforts. God have mercy on sleeping America. God in His mercy, gave us a wake up call on 911. In HIs mercy, I pray that He will raise up someone to continue the good fight President Bush has started in his works for life.
I personally like Sam Brownbacks record. Diane

Thanks for the suggestion Diane. I think Brownback looks really good on the issues(pro-life and pro-family). I was wondering about pro-life Democrats though. The closest think I could find was Joe Biden. His record is pro-choice but he voted against partial birth abortion and against government funding of abortion.
