Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood

"Thank You!"–God

Posted by Mary Lu, September 24th, 2007

Yesterday, our family had the honor to be able to participate in the Walk for Life in Western Springs for The Women’s Center. This center serves mothers who are in crisis pregnancies in the greater Chicago area. It’s Director related her story.

After a discouraging day of counseling, she went for a walk begging Jesus to show her how she could “make a better impact and difference in this battle for life”. She pleaded with St Therese “to intercede for her to show her the way to make a difference”. It seemed to her that “being a soldier” was a no-win situation with no victory in sight. How often have we felt that way. I am sure many of you who are veteran counselors have had more than your share of those days.

She found a box waiting upon returning to her office. It was an early birthday present from her sister, Mary Therese. She pointed to her pants and told us that it was the present—they were green camouflage fatigues! From then on God provided everything and now The Women’s Center provides medical care and needs to hundreds of women in crisis pregnancies.

I want to express our thanks to those who sponsored us that day—totaling $600!

What a difference you have made in the lives of many woman! God Bless You!

PS: We were very encouraged to find pro-life warriors there are actively praying for God’s cause here in Aurora. They have been inspired by our vigil as they plan to begin their 40 days of Prayer, Fasting and Service on Wednesday battling at the Clinic in downtown Chicago.

Let us pray for God’ success in converting hearts and minds to life.

This isn't directly related, but I want everyone to know that:

On Sunday morning, Sept. 23, another plastic fence was put up along the sidewalk on Oakhurst on the side facing PP. This fence is on public property - the parkway. It is a hazard to the prayer vigil participants as well as others. A young boy riding his bicycle on the sidewalk on Sunday ran into the fence and fell off his bike, injuring himself. Thank God he was not seriously hurt. Our people assisted him with first aid. The Aurora police came and made a report on the incident.

If it has not been done, we need to demand that these fences be removed. They are a danger to us and others. The posts are rickety and have sharp ends. I don't know who put them up (I suspect PP), but it is an attempt to intimidate and provoke us, and restrict our freedoms.

Please, please talk this up and bring it up at the city council meeting on Tuesday Sept. 25.

    Thanks and God bless everyone.

There were about 400 vibrant pro-life children, grammas, grampas, men and women. The event closed with the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and Mass celebrated by Fr Lombardo,CFR in the shelter of Beemis Woods. We are still receiving pledges but as of Sunday, we raised over $600 for The Women's Center!

Excellent use of the asterisk — now readers (esp. children)are not mistakenly led to their site.

    Thank you!

I agree 100% Paul. I was at Fr. Pavone's prayer vigil and with all those people there … it was very difficult to move about.

    United AGAINST the "Gross Sin"
    —————————–

    Dear Fellows,

The message about PP reached us too, today, through the mail. Thank you for speaking out for such an important issue. We are a muslim family in your community and LIFE is "sacred" for us like any other faith !.

I wanted to convey following verses from Holy Quran in the subject matter:

"Say, "Come let me tell you what your Lord has really prohibited for you: You shall not set up idols besides Him. You shall honor your parents. You shall not kill your children from fear of poverty - we provide for you and for them. You shall not commit gross sins, obvious or hidden. You shall not kill any person - GOD has made life sacred - except in the course of justice. These are His commandments to you, that you may understand."
    The Holy Quran [6:151]

May God save us all from doing what is a "Gross Sin".

Anzar, thanks much for standing for life! Far too often the Pro-Life movement is falsely presented as "Right-Wing Christian Extremists". However, I appreciate your comment which highlights a similar understanding from members of all races, religions, and creeds. We who respect life stand in unity with all who condemn this most horrible of actions. Thank you and blessings upon you.
