An Amazing Experience at the Vigil!

Posted by Roger on Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

This witness from the Prayer Vigil is by Prayer Warrior Laura K.

jesus_and_woman.jpgEric—My time slot was 3:00 and 4:00 today, but I ended up staying until midnight! I just couldn't leave. The time I spent at the vigil was absolutely amazing!

It was dark, and a minivan pulled over along Oakhurst Dr. stopped, and turned off the lights. A young woman stepped out of the van, made her way along the fence on the street, then stood in front of us on the grass, and said, "I need to tell all of you something. . . " (We thought we were going to hear the riot act read to us!)

We were all quiet, focused on her, and then she said, "When I was 18 I had an abortion. I was converted and came to know Jesus, and he has blessed me now with a beautiful baby girl. She is now 1 year old. I just wanted to stop by and thank all of you so much for being here. Thank you. But I'm having difficulties getting over my abortion."

She broke down into tears, and we all came around her, told her that Jesus forgave her, we hugged her, told her we love her, cried with her, and prayed with her. She stayed for a few minutes after, then said that she may stop by soon and bring her daughter with so we could meet her. We told her that would be great…stop by anytime!

This was the most moving experience I have had! After the "eggscapade" yesterday, some people's spiritual tanks were on "e". This definitely filled everyone up and we remember why we need to be there!

Shortly thereafter, one gentleman that was praying was about to leave. He said thank you to everyone that came out to pray, especially the people in Aurora. We asked him where he lives. He said "New Jersey".

He said he was out in Chicago on a business trip, and just had to stop by the vigil that he was hearing so much about. He said that if he were ever in the Chicago area again, he would stop by again! He told us to keep up the good work & thanked us again!

Wow! I'm so glad that this message is spreading like wildfire across the nation!

When two or more are gathered together in prayer, Jesus is there with them! I could feel the Holy Spirit around us tonight…I guess that's why I didn't want to leave!

God Bless You, Eric!

Wow, what a great post. This doesn't surprise me, however, because of all the deep praying that is going on at the Vigil. Can you imagine how pleased Christ is with all of this? AND how angry the devil is. But there's no way on earth you can keep a corner dark, if someone sheds light upon it. God love you prayer warriors!

My eyes are welled with tears! How important it is for this girl to come forward–what courage, what strength–of course God forgives–she is His instrument for no one can give us such insight as someone who has suffered such torture and now is blessed with a beautiful baby girl–that right there is God's forgiveness to her and her family–she will one day meet her other child and I'm sure he/she will forgive her also with open arms–

God Bless all of you–especially Eric and his family–your boys are such a great reflection of your love and dedication to this Great Cause–Your father and mother must also be so proud, Eric!

    Thank you

    Sincerely,

    Laurie Meisch-Paulson

Nice story! For the woman who broke down and stated difficulties getting over a past abortion — she can contact Yvonne Florczak-Seeman at Project Rachael at the following link…

This morning as I was recruiting volunteers for the 40- Day vigil at Planned Parenthood in Chicago, outside my parish on the north side (Queen of All Saints), a man stopped to sign up and introduced himself. When I said I was Ann Scheidler, he looked up and said. "Related to Eric?" I proudly told him Eric is my son. He's been watching the Aurora battle closely and sends his prayers.

I went for the first time yesterday as a "signed-up" prayer warrior. I had been there previously for rallies, and the candlelight vigil (we live in Elmhurst and it's a bit of a trek to do frequently), but what a beautiful experience. There were about 10-12 people there during my hour [of power]. Those that openly pray right there against the devil are doing Christ's work literally on the front lines. If all the pro-life Aurorans came out to the 40+-day Vigil every day (for however long was doable), I think that building might sink into hell. God save the souls of those who abort!–and rid them of their demons.

Blessed Mother Teresa and John Paul II the Great, please intercede for us in this war on abortion … with special prayers for Christ's promoter of peace, Eric Scheidler.

Wonderful! Truly it is more Blessed to Give than to Receive. That courageous woman can be a great instrument in God's hand to help turn many other women away from that terrible "choice". Let us redouble our prayers for all those who are involved in that horrible place and in this horrible "industry". Truly there is nothing worse in the world than killing babies for profit! But even this is not too great a Sin for God to forgive. The death of his Son on the Cross is greater than the vilest evil. Let us pray that all those "workers" in all the abortion clinics in the World may come to know the Love that God has for them, and help them to turn away from this terrible thing.

    Your Brother in Christ,

My daughter, Sarah & I come from west of Shabbona to pray every Tues. from 10am-12pm at PP. We have been showing up at the City Hall prior to the City Council meetings to show our support of Eric and our cause, also. After this evening's trek to downtown Aurora,we have decided to just do our prayer time in the morning and pray at home on City Council evenings.I'm afraid we would do more harm than good for our cause, if we "lose it" because of our impatience with PP's juvenile actions, with all of their screaming and pushing our signs away, especially when someone honks their car horn. What a spectacle!! We are obviously PRO-LIFE to the MAX!!

^ Since when did trying to stop the slaughter of innocent life constitute "nonsense"??

We need to drive home the point that this 7.5 million $ improvement onto a vacant lot is not paying a dime of taxes! When the houses in Oak Hurst have their rents raised because of all the taxes that PP is not paying, they may care then.

How can the City Aldermen listen to the phone calls from rape victims whose rapist "boyfriends" wait in the waiting room for them without ever worrying about being reported for child molesting? Put it on the record that the City is aware of PP protecting rapists. Then sue them for neglegence in protecting a minor. It's all they understand.
