Jericho March Draws Hundreds

Saturday’s Jericho March was a great success, in spite of the opposition, both from the City of Aurora and from PP. I went to pray at the site at 7am and the first news crew arrived shortly afterwards. It was chilly, but the sun came out to warm out bodies, as the Son warmed our hearts. An estimated 1,000 people attended the Jericho March, arriving by car, or shuttle bus, or walking from the surrounding neighborhood. “Battalions”, of about 100 people, were formed at the corner of New York and Oakhurst. Then wave after wave, people walked, prayed and sang for the non-opening of the PP facility. The people who came? Well, they looked pretty “normal” to me. There were many families in attendance, with stroller and/or toddlers. Many people brought religious icons and Bibles along too. The march ended in a great Clergy Press Conference, but that’s the subject of another post. 🙂
