<strong>Alex writes: "Did anyone happen to catch on video the talk from the lady that led us in 'Whole World in His Hands'? That might have been the greatest 3 minutes of my life and I would like to see it again."</strong>

Alex—I happened to come back up into the council chambers right as she started to sing (I had been outside visiting with the pro-lifers not yet let in).

I wouldn't have missed that for the world, everyone singing along with this tiny little lady—everyone except the pro-aborts, rolling their eyes.

What fun!

I found this quote and was going to read it the other night but, my number was 124. I feel it is important to share. Chesterdon said,"We do not need to get good laws to restrain bad people,we need to get good people to restrain bad laws."Bravo to the proife community in Aurora, our good people have spoken.God will bless us when we stand up for life.My husband is the Pastor of the First Church of God, my youth group put a simple statement on our sign---We stand For Life. I would like to encourage other churches to do the same.

This is a request more than a comment.

If PP opens in Aurora, they need to be monitored as to whether or not they will report suspected cases of child sexual abuse by adults. This could, at the very least, provide some protection for young girls from being repeatedly victimized, while also putting pressure on PP to be held accountable in complying with mandatory reporting laws.

Does anyone have contact with state's attorneys and/or prosecuting attorneys who could be consulted on this?

It seems Alderman Lawrence and Alderman Kifowit are both most aggressive when it comes to protecting the interests of Aurora's citizens.

I was disappointed to see the limit of speech, but I would encourage everyone to check out http://www.openlineblog.com for their coverage of what is going on with the politics of all this. Their viewers reach the movers and shakers of Aurora. Maybe we should be putting ads there that would be more effective than the Beacon-News or Naperville Sun.

I hadn't signed up the first time, but I did this time. I agree with Mr. Scheidler that it probably did work to our advantage in that sense - I just wish I would have had the chance to talk too. My sister plays volleyball at the Great Lakes Center.

I dislike that they attempted to label us, particularly Mr. Grismer (sp?) as blinded by our religion. If anything, it helps me see what's going on. Something has slithered it's way into our "garden" - and this time Adam is going to stand up and protect his Eve. Sean, you were particularly great on Tuesday.

I have a request and a thought.
Request: Did anyone happen to catch on video the talk from the lady that led us in "Whole World in His Hands"? That might have been the greatest 3 minutes of my life and I would like to see it again.
Thought: Perhaps the only argument I even partially felt "moved" by from PP supporters was the girl who mentioned that she could not afford a health checkup for the last 10 years and therefore welcomes them into town. I don't really know her financial situation and I certainly sympathize with such a plight. What occurred to me once my memory clicked in this afternoon was that it seemed as though she COULD afford an iPhone. Not conclusive... but I have my doubts.

God bless, all - Good job again to Sean and others, and someone please help me out with that video!

I also find it so telling that Mr. Trombley attempts to hide behind women's health needs. He cited they need to open as planned due to patients needing care. Is the confidentiality of those women so hidden they can't reach them to refer them to another clinic? How about the Visiting Nurse Association in Aurora? Oh, that's right...it's the competition and they would lose money, so much for womens health needs.

May we all stay strong, stay in the fight and the ones yet to come....parental notification and consent laws in our state and banning planned parenthood from the school curriculums. They are here for these issues and it will be the next wave of tactics from Planned Parenthood.

God Bless Eric, his family and all those who give of their time and energies for this endeavor. Your community thanks you. Each day we bring eachother more courage and conviction to do what is right.

I'm sorry I missed the meeting. I've been guilt-ridden all day. God bless all of you who attended!

One criticism...

It would have been nice if one of you had offered that poor Mr. Trombley a seat. I'm sure his presence in the Council Chamber would have been appreciated by all!

I wish to see a clear list of how each of our council representatives voted- and eventually does vote- on PP's occupancy permit. I will keep this very much in mind come election time.
As a resident of Aurora for 14 years now, I have never needed, or known anyone who needed, the services of PP. Where then does this so-called need lie. As a college student, I sought women's health services from the Visiting Nurses Association. The supposed "90% percent" of PP's services that are NOT abortion are exactly what the VNA has provided for years. They still do and have recently moved to a new, larger facility to better serve Aurorans in need of family planning, contraception and women's health services. BUT NOT ABORTIONS.
So Planned Parenthood, stop trying to force this community to accept services WE don't want or need. This is OUR community, OUR home- you were not invited. You- and your "services"- are not welcome here.
