Here's why we're going to win

The Dragon

Its all I can do when one of the Scheidlers shows up to NOT run them over.

—JeffW, comment on The Daily Kos

This comment on a post at the radical left-wing blog The Daily Kos about the September 25 City Council meeting illustrates why the pro-life movement will ultimately prevail. This reason is simple:

We are not filled with hatred for our opposition. We are not afraid to talk to them. We are not content to merely assert the correctness of our position and sniff at anyone who questions us.

Barack climbs aboard Planned Parenthood's sinking ship

Posted by Eric Scheidler on Friday, September 28th, 2007

PLAL Obama protest 2/10/07The Chicago Tribune reports that Barack Obama has issued a statement in support of Planned Parenthood in Aurora:

I fully support Planned Parenthood's desire to open a new facility in Aurora. The proposed center will serve the growing population in a part of the state where access to a full range of reproductive health care services is lacking.

This is great news on so many levels. First, the organization I work for, the Pro-Life Action League, was the first to picket candidate Obama—back on February 10, one of the coldest days of the year. We opposed him then, he's opposing us now—kind of returning the favor.

Favorite speeches from the 9/25 City Council meeting

Posted by Jeff on Friday, September 28th, 2007

Funny Story I've posted my top 5 speeches from Tuesday's Aurora City Council meeting (in no particular order), providing a interesting mix of styles and viewpoints - there's a call to demolish the clinic, a funny yet compelling story about lies and evictions, straightforward legal reasoning, questions about bulletproof glass, and even a little infighting between the pro-aborts. Enjoy….

Your "anti-choice rabble rouser" on the Special Use Permit question

Posted by Eric Scheidler on Thursday, September 27th, 2007

Rabble Rouser? The folks over at the new Planned Parenthood Aurora (PPA) blog have just dubbed me an "anti-choice rabble rouser." I'm sure they intended to slight me with that moniker, but it's really much more insulting to you, dear reader—one of the rabble!

Unlike we who have nothing to fear—because we are right—they won't publish comments from the opposition over there, so I will respond here to their claim that in my remarks to the City Council Tuesday I was "stooping to outright lies and misinformation."

Trombley says he'll stop at nothing.
So what else is new?

Posted by Eric Scheidler on Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Steve Trombley at City Hall 9/11We want to be clear we will stop at nothing to open this center

—Steve Trombley, CEO Planned Parenthood/Chicago Area

Steve Trombley says Planned Parenthood will "stop at nothing" to open their Abortion Fortress of Aurora. So what else is new? We've already seen that Planned Parenthood won't be held back by any notion of honesty or respect for the rule of law.

So far they haven't done worse than that—bad as it is—and for now I'll assume Trombley meant those words only to intimidate the City Council with the prospect of a long legal battle.

Jericho March Finale—Video and Pics

Posted by Jeff on Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

Jericho MarchThe Jericho March Finale brought together pro-life ministers and nearly 1000 supporters, all asking for God's intervention to keep the Aurora Planned Parenthood abortion clinic closed—and our Lord certainly has not disappointed!

I've posted a video that captures the sights and sounds from the event, especially the rousing speeches given at the press conference. And here are a couple of other great videos I saw on Youtube covering the Jericho March Finale.

An Amazing Experience at the Vigil!

Posted by Roger on Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

This witness from the Prayer Vigil is by Prayer Warrior Laura K.

jesus_and_woman.jpgEric—My time slot was 3:00 and 4:00 today, but I ended up staying until midnight! I just couldn't leave. The time I spent at the vigil was absolutely amazing!

It was dark, and a minivan pulled over along Oakhurst Dr. stopped, and turned off the lights. A young woman stepped out of the van, made her way along the fence on the street, then stood in front of us on the grass, and said, "I need to tell all of you something. . . " (We thought we were going to hear the riot act read to us!)

Children's Tough Questions (A True Story)

Posted by Elizabeth E on Friday, September 21st, 2007

This story about children and their reaction to abortion was submitted by Andrea from Aurora.

Mini VanI was on my way home from our annual back to school shoe shopping trip to Fox Valley Mall and surrounding shoe stores when I remembered that there was a Planned Parenthood being build along New York street. I had past the intersection of New York and Eola about 1,000 times in my lifetime and could not picture where the building would be located.

I had my four children with me: a fourth grade girl, a kindergarten boy, a preschool boy and a two years old boy and I decided to take a quick detour and drive by to see where the Planned Parenthood building was. We turned onto Oakhurst and I saw 5 women standing on the sidewalk, walking slowly back and fourth. Since we were already there, I decided to park and walk with my children to get a closer look. Pics from the Amazing Grace Dinner

Posted by Jeff on Friday, September 21st, 2007

tent-small.jpgThe 'Amazing Grace' dinner in Aurora's Wheatland Community Park was a great success, and very motivational to everyone there! The people, food, entertainment and speakers all made for an optimistic and exciting atmosphere - and the final speeches by David Bereit and Eric Scheidler did a fantastic job of firing up the crowd to pray and battle even harder against Planned Parenthood!

Here are some pics from the event, along with a short write-up on what took place: [Continue reading . . . »]
