Strong Turnout To Protest Planned Parenthood Aurora

Posted by Eric Scheidler on Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Protesting Planned Parenthood Aurora, January 16, 2010

The bitter winter cold abated somewhat on Saturday, January 16 for our first monthly protest of the year at Planned Parenthood in Aurora, Illinois, with temperatures in the mid-twenties. A strong group of fifty faithful activists bundled up and joined me on the picket line to oppose to the huge abortuary on Aurora's west side.

The picket line was just as long as at last year's January protest at the site, a good sign that community resistance to the controversial Planned Parenthood facility remains strong. And as usual, the protest group included some new faces—folks who decided the time had come to take an active role fighting abortion.

Martin Luther King, Jr. - An Extremist

Posted by Roger on Monday, January 18th, 2010

Today, being Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, I read his long letter titled "Letter from Birmingham Jail". In it, I noticed that the man we honor today was called an "extremist" in his day by his contemporaries.

Isn't that funny? How may people have called those who peacefully pray and counsel outside the Aurora Planned Parenthood "extremists"?

Perhaps we are in good company. Perhaps it will take a few years for people to see the value of our peaceful, non-violent actions?

Here are a few excerpts from the letter: [Continue reading . . . »]

Off-duty Chicago cop pulls gun on pro-lifer

Posted by Matt Yonke on Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Police cars outside Planned Parenthood AuroraThis morning, Wednesday, December 16, pro-lifer Rachelle Crile of Naperville went to Planned Parenthood around 8 a.m. to sidewalk counsel. After about 45 minutes in temperatures below 20 degrees, Rachelle went to her car in the Blockbuster parking lot to warm up before returning to the front lines.

As Rachelle sat in her car, a couple in a white SUV pulled into the Blockbuster lot a couple rows behind her. Rachelle had a feeling the people might be coming to Planned Parenthood. Since Wednesday mornings are a prime abortion time, Rachelle knew a life could be on the line, so she said a prayer, grabbed her literature and approached the car. [Continue reading . . . »]

40 Days for Life closes with "Do-It-Yourself" Pro-Life Concert

Posted by Matt Yonke on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Aurora's third 40 Days for Life campaign closed with our second "Do-It-Yourself" Pro-Life Concert, and it was a great ending to a great campaign.

Pro-lifers gathered on the vacant lot outside Planned Parenthood Aurora to sing their favorite hymns and praise God for his kindness towards our Pro-Life efforts in the Fox Valley—and with five babies saved from abortion in the last week we have a lot to be thankful for.

The video above is of pro-lifers singing "Spirit of the Living God" for our friend and long-time stalwart activist John Thorne. John is sick with lung problems and may not be long for this world, but when he was well, he was the first person to speak against Planned Parenthood at every City Council meeting, he came to every protest and prayed with incredible faithfulness.

"Spirit of the Living God" is one of John's favorite songs, he requested it at many pro-life events, so we sang it for him since he couldn't be with us this time. Please pray for John and his health as well as his family in this time of illness.

Texas Planned Parenthood Leader Resigns

Posted by Roger on Monday, November 2nd, 2009

I stumbled upon this video of a PP leader resigning after seeing an ultrasound. Pretty cool. Perhaps other "pro-choice" workers can take note here.

The photo here is from the Coalition for Life site which recently opened a women's resource center close to the PP facility.

Article: Planned Parenthood Director Leaves, Has Change of Heart

"Planned Parenthood has been a part of Abby Johnson's life for the past eight years; that is until last month, when Abby resigned. Johnson said she realized she wanted to leave, after watching an ultrasound of an abortion procedure…"

Aurora City Council grants Planned Parenthood's parking request

Posted by Eric Scheidler on Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Eric watches the proceedings TuesdayRoger Earl beat me to it with the exciting news that three babies were saved from abortion the day after the Aurora City Council met our (very low) expectations by granting Planned Parenthood's request to expand their parking lot. This is an especially significant number, since precisely three aldermen voted against PP's petition.

On the City Council agenda for Tuesday evening, October 27, was a petition by Planned Parenthood to expand their parking lot. The petition had been approved by the Planning and Development Committee, but then appealed by 4th Ward Alderman Rick Lawrence to the full Council. [Continue reading . . . »]
