Pro-life caroling day brings the hope of Christmas to abortion clinics nationwide

Posted by Matt Yonke on Wednesday, December 23rd, 2015

Every year since Planned Parenthood opened here in Aurora, it has been part of the Pro-Life Action League's "Empty Manger" pro-life Christmas caroling day. This year's caroling effort was the largest ever, with over 40 groups taking part from coast to coast!

Here in Illinois, the League hosted two caroling tours, one in Chicago, and the other in suburban DuPage county. At Planned Parenthood Aurora, the largest abortion clinic in the state, a baby was saved from abortion when their parents heard our carols and talked to sidewalk counselors as they entered the clinic!

The Chicago caroling tour began as it has every year since its inception in 2003: with the unfurling of a 10-foot banner saying, "All I want for Christmas is an end to abortion." [Continue reading . . . »]

Another Botched Abortion at Planned Parenthood in Aurora, Illinois

Posted by Eric Scheidler on Monday, November 17th, 2014

On October 25, 2014, an ambulance was called to the massive Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Aurora, Illinois. The Pro-Life Action League obtained the audio of the 911 call through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. Video of the ambulance departing Planned Parenthood was shot by a local activist.

The 911 call reveals that a client of Planned Parenthood was hemorrhaging after her abortion—a rare instance of Planned Parenthood actually admitting the medical problem they're calling about.

Earlier this year, a 911 operator rebuked a Planned Parenthood staffer at this same facility for not providing adequate patient information. In 2012, the Planned Parenthood center in Chicago didn't even bother to call 911 after botching an abortion on a woman named Tonya Reaves so badly that she died.

Planned Parenthood Well Known to 911 Call Center

Also notable on this 911 call is that the operator already knows Planned Parenthood's address, and is clearly familiar with Planned Parenthood preference for EMTs to use their back entrance. These calls are all too frequent.

She also seems to have learned not to expect much patient information when Planned Parenthood calls.

The fate of the woman transported from Planned Parenthood by this ambulance is unknown. Her child is dead.

The Pro-Life Action League has coordinated the pro-life ministry at this Planned Parenthood facility since it opened in 2007 under a cloud of controversy.

Candlelight Vigil Marks Seven Years of Pro-Life Ministry in Aurora, Illinois

Posted by Matt Yonke on Friday, October 3rd, 2014

auroravigil1Not to be deterred by unpleasant weather conditions, a crowd of 50 pro-lifers gathered last night outside Planned Parenthood in Aurora, Illinois to mark the seventh anniversary of the day the "Abortion Fortress" opened its doors.

Reflections were shared, songs were sung, candles were lit, and the faithful came together to mourn the babies and mothers hurt by abortion as well as to thank God for his ongoing kindness to the pro-life movement in our struggle against this facility.

Following introductory remarks by Pro-Life Action League executive director Eric Scheidler, Father Michael Miller of St. Therese Parish in Aurora offered a reflection, drawing particularly on words of Pope Francis in his encyclical letter Evangelii Gaudium ("The Joy of the Gospel"): [Continue reading . . . »]

Bring a Baby Item to This Saturday's Monthly Protest in Aurora

Posted by John Jansen on Tuesday, May 13th, 2014

baby shower at planned parenthood auroraA few years ago, four brothers—all under age 10—raised hundreds of dollars for the Pro-Life Action League by pooling all their Halloween candy and giving it away for donations.

Now their big sister, 15-year old Jessica, has come up with her own creative way to support the pro-life cause.

Jessica is throwing a Mother's Day "Baby Shower" for pregnancy centers in Aurora to coincide with the monthly protest outside Aurora Planned Parenthood this Saturday:

The biggest needs are for diapers and gift cards to stores like Target, Jewel, or Babies "R" Us for moms in need. [Continue reading . . . »]

Sidewalk Counselors Equip Young Father to Save His Baby from Abortion

Posted by Matt Yonke on Monday, May 12th, 2014

Sidewalk counselors at Planned Parenthood AuroraLast Saturday, I received an e-mail from Mary Ann, a sidewalk counselor at Planned Parenthood Aurora.

She filled me in on the story of a young man who received the courage and exhortation he needed from Mary Ann and our other counselors to go into Planned Parenthood and stop his girlfriend from going through with the abortion.

Here's the story in Mary Ann's own words:

When I got [to Planned Parenthood] at 8:30 a.m., Mark, another sidewalk counselor, filled me in on a man who arrived after his girlfriend. The man didn't want her to abort their baby. [Continue reading . . . »]

Statue of St. Gianna Molla Dedicated at St. Patrick Church in Yorkville

Posted by Matt Yonke on Wednesday, May 7th, 2014

Statue of St. GiannaA statue of St. Gianna Molla was blessed by His Excellency Bishop Joseph Siegel during Mass at St. Patrick Church in Yorkville this Sunday as the next step in an exciting new project, and Eric Scheidler and I were blessed to be a part of the celebration.

The statue is the centerpiece of the St. Gianna Shrine on St. Patrick's grounds, which aims to be place of hope and healing for women who have suffered the loss of a child through miscarriage or abortion, or just want to find hope in the life and intercession of this holy and courageous woman.

The shrine will consist of a gazebo covering the statue set in a beautifully landscaped garden, and a pathway leading from the church to the shrine paved with bricks donated by supporters of the effort. [Continue reading . . . »]

Five Babies Recently Saved at Planned Parenthood Mega-Center

I'm happy to report that since the beginning of this month, five babies have been saved from abortion at the huge Planned Parenthood's mega-center in Aurora, Illinois, where the Pro-Life Action League is especially active. This is especially joyous news considering how difficult it is to speak to clients at this location, which was deliberately designed to hinder pro-life outreach.

The first came March 1 during a kickoff rally for 40 Days for Life. Sidewalk counselors Karen N. reports that a couple came out from Planned Parenthood and approached her as they were driving away. The woman nodded when Karen asked her if she was pregnant, and nodded again when she asked whether they'd changed their minds. Karen gave them information on the nearby Waterleaf pregnancy center. The man said they had to get a bite first—further indication they had had an abortion scheduled, since clients are instructed not to eat the morning before.

Three Saves the First Week of Lent

On Ash Wednesday, March 5, a car pulled out of the Planned Parenthood parking lot and pulled up beside sidewalk counselor Susan S. The passenger, a young woman, told Susan she had decided to keep her baby. Only minutes later, another car pulled up to Susan S. and counselor Randy M. and a beaming young woman told them about a previously unknown save: her daughter would soon turn one year old. "Witnessing for Life" Gathering Revitalizes Fox Valley Pro-Life Community

Posted by Matt Yonke on Monday, February 24th, 2014
Edmund Miller speaks

On Saturday, February 22, over 70 pro-lifers gathered at First Presbyterian Church in Aurora, Illinois for an afternoon entitled, "Witnessing for Life: A Day of Reflection and Renewal."

Six years ago, Planned Parenthood brought what was at the time the largest abortion clinic in America to Aurora under a cloud of controversy and deception. The battle to keep them from opening elicited massive pro-life protest under the direction of the Pro-Life Action League.

Ever since they opened in October of 2007, the pro-life community in the Fox Valley has maintained a peaceful, prayerful outreach at the clinic, offering hope and real options to abortion-bound mothers.

Pro-Life Gathering to Encourage and Energize

The purpose of Saturday's gathering was to encourage and revitalize those involved in sidewalk counseling and prayer ministry at Planned Parenthood and equip them with new resources to better recruit new volunteers to the effort. [Continue reading . . . »]

October 2 marked the sixth anniversary of the dark day when Planned Parenthood opened their first "mega-clinic" in Aurora, Illinois.

The Pro-Life Action League was there with over 150 local pro-lifers to mark the anniversary and re-commit ourselves to the ongoing fight against the facility.

Back in the summer of 2007, the League learned that a building under construction in Aurora—the same town where our Executive Director Eric Scheidler lives—was to be the site of a new abortion clinic.

Not only was there a new clinic in the works, only months from opening, but it was the first of Planned Parenthood's new mega-centers—large, regional clinics meant to replace multiple other abortion facilities in an area and consolidate their business.

Over the next several months the League directed a massive wave of public outcry against the facility with thousands coming out to pray, protest and speak to the City Council. In the end, the facility was allowed to open, but opposition to its presence in Aurora has continued steadily ever since. [Continue reading . . . »]

40 Days for Life Off to a Great Start in Aurora, IL

Posted by Matt Yonke on Thursday, September 26th, 2013

Though the fall 40 Days for Life campaign kicked off yesterday nationwide, we got an early start here in Aurora, Illinois with an early opening ceremony last Saturday.

It was a beautiful morning as over 100 pro-lifers gathered on the vacant lot across from Planned Parenthood's mega-center, and Fr. Matt Lamoureux of St. Patrick Church in nearby Yorkville, Illinois opened the service in prayer.

Coordinators Kathleen Dietz and Karen Moore introduced themselves and welcomed local musician Karl Miles performed an original pro-life song. [Continue reading . . . »]
