Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood spies on you

Posted by Matt Yonke, June 24th, 2008

Picket line at June's monthly protestLast Saturday, June 20, saw another showing of the incredible level of commitment of Aurora's pro-life community. Over 120 pro-lifers came out to Planned Parenthood Aurora at 9 a.m. to tell the world that they will not rest till abortion is out of Aurora.

Weather started out beautiful, probably the best weather we've seen at one of our monthly protests, but went south quickly when dark clouds showed up on the horizon. Soon sprinkles gave way to an outright downpour, drenching the activists.

But even torrential rains couldn't the dampen the spirits of the faithful protesters. They marched and prayed and sang and chanted all the way up to the scheduled end time of 10:30 a.m.

Standing room only at Batavia Library Board Meeting

Posted by Matt Yonke, June 18th, 2008

Board will decide on PP Teenwire website at next meeting

UPDATE: An excellent letter to the editor of the Kane County Chronicle about this issue was published in today's issue. Take a look!

Crowd outside library board meetingThe crowd at the Batavia Library Board of Trustees meeting overflowed the room's capacity last night. Over 50 citizens were moved to action on the library's link to Planned Parenthood's Teewire website.

The board's meeting was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., and they were expected to hear the case of Batavia citizens on the matter before their meeting began. Local parents Scott Russell, Sylvia Keppel, and Kerry Knott were allowed to present their case, Mrs. Knott even brought a multi-media presentation and a packet of information for the board members about the material on the Teenwire website.

Although assurances had been made that all the citizens would be allowed to speak, at 7:15 p.m. the board cut off public comment and retired to their official meeting. They said that they would allow public comment from 6 to 7 p.m. before their next meeting on July 15, and they would make a final decision in that meeting. [Continue reading . . . »]

Pro-lifers spread the truth at Batavia High School

Posted by Matt Yonke, June 5th, 2008

police car outside of batavia high schoolYesterday afternoon, the last day of school at Batavia High School, a group of local pro-lifers brought the truth about abortion to students from 2:30 to 3:00 when school let out. Eight activists, many of them high school students including Nate and Sam Scheidler and Dolores and Patty Weber, held large signs with pictures of aborted babies in hopes of making the gravity of the abortion holocaust real to area teens.

The group set up their display on the public sidewalk by the driveway entrance to the school on Batavia's Main Street. No sooner had they set up their display than security guards from the school told them they would have to move across the street or they would call the police. Undeterred by the threats of the guards, activists stood their ground.

Planned Parenthood chooses censorship

Posted by Matt Yonke, June 5th, 2008

Planned Parenthood has an irrational fear of “rabid anti-choicers” who are out to take their rights away. I can’t think of a way to explain it other than guilt over what they do. Here's a quote from a recent post on PP Aurora's blog:

I was reading the other day about the 1916 police raid on Margaret Sanger’s family planning clinic in Brooklyn where she and her sister were arrested for disseminating information to patients about contraception. It’s amazing to me that almost 100 years later, it seems like little has changed.

As laughable as PP’s myopic view of their victim status is, one thing that has changed in the last century: Instead of being censored, Planned Parenthood has become the censor! Yesterday we learned that our pamphlets of information about how babies develop and where women can get help if they don’t want an abortion are on Planned Parenthood’s banned books list! Planned Parenthood's Obscene Profits (by Michelle Malkin)

Posted by Roger, June 4th, 2008

I thought this was an interesting article written by Michelle Malkin, titled Planned Parenthood's Obscene Profits . Here's an excerpt:

… In April, the annual report for Planned Parenthood Federation of America revealed that the abortion giant had a total income of $1.02 billion — with reported profits of nearly $115 million. Taxpayers kick in more than $336 million worth of government grants and contracts at both the state and federal levels. That's a third of Planned Parenthood's budget.

And what market-distorting results do we get for those government incentives? In 2006 alone: 289,750 abortions.

Oil execs, tobacco execs, banking execs, pharmaceutical company execs and baseball players have all been hauled up before Congress for highly publicized whippings by crusading lawmakers. But the executives of Planned Parenthood have escaped government scrutiny and public accountability for their predatory behavior, dangerous medical practices, deception and deadly windfall.

When you have a chance, read it and let us know your thoughts about this article.

God Bless,
Roger

Sidewalk counseling saves lives

Posted by Matt Yonke, June 2nd, 2008

My new son Peter!Great news is coming in from the front lines of our struggle against Planned Parenthood here in Aurora!

If you haven't gotten involved in the work to save babies and their mothers from abortion, I would urge you to join in. It is a peaceful, prayerful work and, as these stories will attest, vitally important. You can find all the details on how to join in the work here.

I hear stories from our prayer warriors and sidewalk counselors almost every day about great things God is doing outside Planned Parenthood, but I heard two stories last week that I had to share with you all.

Back to their old tricks

Posted by Matt Yonke, May 30th, 2008

Button reading Planned Parenthood is at it again, this time in Cincinnati, Ohio. Cincinnati is already home to one Planned Parenthood which has drawn controversy for hiding statutory rapists. Now, Lifenews.com reports they are using the same methods they used here in Aurora to sneak a new mega-mill into town.

And where have they decided to place this new killing center? Across the street from Cincinnati's predominantly African-American high school. How can they keep arguing they're not trying to reduce minority populations when they keep targeting minorities with their population reducing services?
