After a break from the regular third Saturday monthly protests outside Planned Parenthood Aurora to protest President Obama at Notre Dame, it was good to be back on track on June 20.
Dozens of pro-lifers lined New York Street with picket signs proclaiming "Moms for Life," "Dads for Life," "Planned Parenthood Lies to You" and "Stop Abortion Now" while several others kept a prayer and counseling presence at the entrance of the clinic to offer help to abortion-bound moms.

NARAL, the National Abortion Rights Action League, held their a national "Power of Choice" fundraising luncheon at the Swissotel in downtown Chicago on Thursday May 7, 2009. Fox Valley activists joined the Pro-Life Action League was there to remind them what "Choice" really means.
At 10:30 a.m., before NARAL's guests began to arrive volunteers lined Wacker Drive with baby Malachi signs from the driveway of the hotel all the way to Columbus Drive. [Continue reading . . . »]

Today was stalwart activist Randy Means' court date for his wrongful arrest for "disturbing the peace" at Planned Parenthood. You can read all about how he was arrested for merely preaching the gospel to Planned Parenthood employees in my previous post on the story.
Today Randy and attorney Peter Breen of the Thomas More Society Pro-Life Law Center, Chicago, appeared before the judge to plead "not guilty" and set a date for trial. The date was set for Monday, June 22 at 1 p.m. [Continue reading . . . »]

Saturday, April 18 was FVFAPP's monthly third Saturday protest and, for the first time in months, the weather was beautiful.
Well over 100 pro-lifers came out to let Planned Parenthood and the Fox Valley know that they do not want one of the country's largest abortion facilities in their back yard.
Many pro-lifers were protesting abortion for the very first time and expressed how good it felt to do something about a cause they feel so passionately about. [Continue reading . . . »]

Aurora pro-life leader Karen Nickels offers the following memorial on activist Dave Wade, who passed away on Easter Sunday. Karen has set up a memorial fund to cover Dave's final expenses. The amount needed for these expenses has been met, but the fund is still accepting contributions in Dave's name that will go to the Pro-Life Action League, the organization that Dave volunteered with so ardently and that is empowering people in Aurora and across the country to be active in the pro-life movement. Please e-mail Eric for information on contributing.
Dave is to be buried at Noon on Thursday, April 16 at River Hills Memorial Park, 1650 S. River Street, Batavia (map).
On Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009, our loving God took long-time Aurora pro-lifer David Wade to the fullness of eternal life. It was the end of a several-year battle with ill health.
Dave spent much of his adult life aiding the unborn. He was active in the struggle against abortion almost from the beginning. In the early days of the pro-life movement, he regularly took part in actions at Chicago abortuaries with Joe Scheidler. [Continue reading . . . »]

On April 10, Good Friday, over 120 pro-lifers gathered outside of Planned Parenthood Aurora to pray "The Way of the Cross for Victims of Abortion."
The Way of the Cross is a traditional Catholic prayer that remembers the suffering and death of Jesus in His passion. This version also includes prayers for the women, unborn babies and everyone else touched by the pain of abortion.
This was a particularly appropriate prayer for Good Friday and even more poignant outside an abortion mill. [Continue reading . . . »]

Monday, March 30, more than 30 people came out to protest HB2354 in front of the district office of State Representative Kay Hatcher.
Leading the protest were local pro-lifers Dan Wurtz and Julie Van Domelen of Holy Cross Church in Batavia. Dan and Julie had arranged a meeting with Rep. Hatcher to deliver the hundreds of petition signatures against HB2354 from her district. They used that time to bring a peaceful, prayerful protest against HB2354 and Rep. Hatcher's stand in support of it. Dan had this to say about the meeting:
Mrs. Hatcher was honest and to the point. While expressing reservations on HB-2354 she did say, "If you were to categorize me it would be Pro-Choice." I sensed genuine conflict on the bill, but didn't think that it alone would influence her vote.

One of the central issues in the fight against HB2354 is the impact it could have on our kids by way of the mandatory sex-ed it would impose on all Illinois public schools.
With that in mind, who's running for school board in your area? Do you know the candidates? Do you know where they stand on comprehensive sex-ed and other issues that effect Illinois families?
What can you do?
If you do know, post what you know about the candidates at the Stop Illinois FOCA website so others can benefit. If you don't know, find out and report back with the information. I've turned off comments on this post so we can consolidate everyone's knowledge in one place at the Stop Illinois FOCA site.
- To find out who's running, can check with your local board of elections or election commission.
- Call candidates in your area and ask them their position on sex-ed, their position on parental involvement in sex-ed curriculum and any other issues you think would be important to Illinois families.
- Post your findings at the Stop Illinois FOCA website.
Together, we can be informed voters and impact Illinois for the good of families.

Mike and Jimmy, two members of Students for Life of Illinois, have taken on an ambitious pro-life project over their spring break, and they'll be bringing it right here to Aurora on Friday, March 27.
They've called it Biking for Babies. Their plan is to bike 600 miles across Illinois in six days, getting sponsorships for every mile. They hope to raise $20,000 to be split between two worthy Illinois pro-life groups.
Mike and Jimmy have already completed half their ride, but it's not too late to support this great pro-life effort. Visit the Biking for Babies website to donate or to find more information.
On Friday, March 27, Mike and Jimmy will be biking from DeKalb to Chicago. At noon, they will be stopping to pray at Planned Parenthood Aurora. Please join them along with Eric Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League to support this worthy pro-life effort and add your prayers for the unborn to theirs.
