Yesterday, I read the following article on the National Review web site. I thought it was good, and I discovered that our very own Aurora Beacon news actually printed the story too. Thanks, Beacon News! Perhaps keeping my subscription is worthwhile?

Eric sent a message the other day. We are approaching our one year anniversary of the battle's beginnings. It made me think. We are all praying. Why then is Planned Parenthood still here?
Perhaps our prayer needs to be punched up a level. Although we very often have events at which we gather to pray together for the cause, we usually pray within the secrets of our hearts. That is indeed a fruitful and beautiful way to pray as God knows the innermost stirrings that lie there in the hearts of everyone.
But perhaps its time we make it publically known just how much prayer we are investing here. Yes, I know. When you pray you should go into your room where no one can see you except God alone. But that is the point. Since God alone hears our prayer, it won't slap satan in the face as powerfully as when the devil himself sees it and hears that it is happening. Satan does not necessarily know what we say when we pray to God. Making this publicly known shows the devil the power of God. This also will inspire others to pray for the cause. So what do you think. I feel so strongly that God wants everyone to know He is in charge here, it is his timetable and that we trust him.
Here's what I suggest. In the replies below, write the time and length your prayer time is that is devoted exclusively for closing of Planned Partenthood. Even if it is for only a few mintues. If you can devote more time, great. For the Catholics out there, time before the Blessed Sacrament in a Holy Hour (even a Holy few minutes) is wonderful. Encourage others to pray about this and inform you of there prayer time. I will keep tabs on this and update you.
For those out there that don't feel religion should be involved here…it won't deter us who pray for this. It will only inspire us all the more. God is in charge. Period.

Last Friday, August 1, Maryland State Troopers arrested eighteen pro-lifers participating in a "Face the Truth" Tour in Bel Air, Maryland.
Defend Life of Maryland sponsored the Tour, which had been a great success thus far. Our own Eric Scheidler had visited the Tour last Wednesday to participate and give a talk.
The confrontation arose when a state trooper told tour captain Jack Ames that they had to put their signs away and leave. If they did not comply, he told them he would start making arrests. [Continue reading . . . »]

The struggle to bring the truth about Planned Parenthood's reckless entrance into Aurora is going strong in the courts. On July 1, 2008, the City of Aurora issued Planned Parenthood a Permanent Occupancy Permit replacing the temporary permit they had been operating under until now.
With such serious doubts about the zoning of the building, a nine count law suit in State Court, the obvious question here is why would the city issue a final permit in such a disputed case? [Continue reading . . . »]

Last Tuesday, July 16, the Batavia Library Board of Trustees met for the second time to hear area residents’ concerns about the link to Planned Parenthood's vile TeenWire site on the library's "Young Adult Health and Fitness" section of their website.
Over 120 people came to the meeting which again overflowed the capacity of the room. About 20 of those present were sporting Planned Parenthood pink, but the vast majority appeared to support removing the link. [Continue reading . . . »]

Saturday morning was the final day of the Pro-Life Action League's summer Face the Truth Tour which just happened to coincide with Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood's monthly protest at PP Aurora. The day dawned with dark clouds and heavy rains. There were initial worries that the display would not be able to proceed due to the inclement weather.
But with hope in our hearts, we started with a small picket line on New York Street. Slowly but surely, pro-lifers began to trickle in. As the rain began to subside, the trickle turned into a flood until each and every picket sign we brought was in the line and the people were still coming.
By 9:15 the graphic signs were brought out and in no time both sides of New York Street between Eola and Oakhurst were lined with signs displaying the truth about abortion. [Continue reading . . . »]

Planned Parenthood's newest mega-center has opened, three months ahead of schedule, in Denver Colorado. This new facility officially displaces the Abortion Fortress of Aurora as the nation's largest abortion facility.
Fortunately, there is a dedicated group of pro-lifers in Denver, Colorado Families Against Planned Parenthood, who will be there to pray, counsel, and protest this new center. Not one to miss a chance to sling some mud, a PP spokesperson has referred to the group as "economic terrorists" for their attempts to convince the contracting company that oversaw construction of the Denver facility to back out of the project.
Please keep the new facility, the abortion-bound women there, and the pro-lifers fighting for the rights of the unborn there in your prayers.

A one-two punch came in the local press yesterday as pro-lifers were labeled "nitwits", "nincompoops", "thought-police", and the oh-so-condescending "misguided".
Jeff Ward in the Batavia Sun and Laura Berman in the Chicago Sun-Times both ran columns laying into Batavia citizens for daring to speak up about the controversial material being recommended to their children by tax-funded community institutions.
Which is why it's so important that every concerned citizen of Batavia show up to the next library board of trustees meeting on July 15 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Batavia Public Library (map) where the issue will finally be decided.

Last Saturday, June 20, saw another showing of the incredible level of commitment of Aurora's pro-life community. Over 120 pro-lifers came out to Planned Parenthood Aurora at 9 a.m. to tell the world that they will not rest till abortion is out of Aurora.
Weather started out beautiful, probably the best weather we've seen at one of our monthly protests, but went south quickly when dark clouds showed up on the horizon. Soon sprinkles gave way to an outright downpour, drenching the activists.
But even torrential rains couldn't the dampen the spirits of the faithful protesters. They marched and prayed and sang and chanted all the way up to the scheduled end time of 10:30 a.m.

Board will decide on PP Teenwire website at next meeting
The crowd at the Batavia Library Board of Trustees meeting overflowed the room's capacity last night. Over 50 citizens were moved to action on the library's link to Planned Parenthood's Teewire website.
The board's meeting was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., and they were expected to hear the case of Batavia citizens on the matter before their meeting began. Local parents Scott Russell, Sylvia Keppel, and Kerry Knott were allowed to present their case, Mrs. Knott even brought a multi-media presentation and a packet of information for the board members about the material on the Teenwire website.
Although assurances had been made that all the citizens would be allowed to speak, at 7:15 p.m. the board cut off public comment and retired to their official meeting. They said that they would allow public comment from 6 to 7 p.m. before their next meeting on July 15, and they would make a final decision in that meeting. [Continue reading . . . »]
